Today we bring you to Kampung Kudei Lama, which is situated just on the fringe of Kuching City Centre but is devoid of basic utilities like electricity and water supply and proper drainage. James, originally from Simunjan who has been living there for more than 30 years, tells us the status of the area has been upgraded from squatter to kampung. Sadly, there hasn’t been any parallel upgrade of the amenities within. Kampung Kudei Lama is a far cry from the neighbouring Kampung Kudei Baru which is furnished with all the basic utilities , not to mention individual land titles. Why the discrimination, one wonders? The State Assemblyman for Batu Lintang, See Chee How is working with the community on a plan to make Kudei Lama a more liveable place since numerous appeals by the community to the authorities have been ignored.

Next, Thomas Jalong from JOAS tells us his fear on the suspected takeover bid of NCR land in Sabah by the Genting group. He thinks the company and government alike should show more respect for NCR land and the community who are entitled as the rightful owners.

Gema from Sibu speaks on her frustration and disappointment with Malaysia’s #1 man, Najib Razak who has misused the trust Malaysians have put in him and does nothing but come up with one scandal after another, to the detriment of the rakyat. Yet, we must not voice it out, lest we be charged in court. Still on Najib, our regular caller Baginda Minda thinks Najib’s frequent visits to Sarawak lately is his way of buying votes now that our State Election is drawing near; certainly not out of care and concern for our State.

We speak to Lucas from Sungei Poi for more information on the newly erected public toilet at Rumah Ali. What good would a public toilet do for the community? Lucas thinks BN has resorted to this antic due to the general declining support for the pro-Najib party. However, Lucas will not be bought and will still give his vote to the opposition as he thinks the opposition-led state of Selangor is a good example of their calibre.

Next, John Brian speaks to us on the three main things for Sarawak voters to bear in mind while casting our votes this State Election – the extensive abuse of power by the present BN government, the progressive stripping of NCR land and other rights of non-malays and to be watchful of Adenan, the man who speaks sweet words but can he deliver the candies?

Tune in for all this and more, plus our Borneo Bulletin.  Semoa kita tau bejako!

Parti pemerintah hanya mampu beri tandas?
