On today’s show, we bring you live coverage from Bekelit where three communities organized their Gawai Sandau Ari over the weekend – the ancient ritual to call on the Gods for help before war. These are the communities targeted by gangsters from the Tung Huat plantation company. Despite losing their case in court, says Tuai Rumah Rajit, the communities are vowing to fight on for the land given to them by the Brooke administration in 1932. When the law is wrong, it must be right to fight it. Joseph and Andrew, both of Bekelit, have a new solution to the problem. Change the government and change the policy on indigenous land rights. When the law is wrong, change it!

But the BN land policy seems to be all over the place. Masing still calls for more oil palm and more migrant workers to staff the plantations. Yet Adenan at the weekend says enough oil palm, let’s all plant corn! But he still supports logging by the Big Six because they apparently employ thousands of Sarawakians, a number that mounts everytime he makes this speech. Nicholas Mujah ak Ason confirms that Adenan is anti-oil palm, at least he was in a meeting with land rights activists last year. Where does that leave Masing? But he counsels Adenan not to worry about jobless Sarawakians since most of the employees in the logging industry are brought over from Indonesia. Stop logging, stop oil palm and plant corn! After all, the oil palm weevil might be on its way!

Then we speak to YB Baru Bian on two issues. Douglas Uggah, the man tipped to be the next Deputy Chief Minister, has boldly decided to claim that there are no more issues with NCR land in Sarawak because everyone is being issued with individual titles. Perhaps he has been too long away from Sarawak, says Baru, and doesn’t understand what is happening here. As the State Government continue to push the Section 6 survey, the land issues are likely to mount as large tracts of land slip into state hands. Is it a case of out of the Jabu frying pan and into the Uggah fire? Then Baru gives us an update on the S4S debate over the weekend. He tells us that Sarawak and Sabah lost their power of veto when Singapore was booted out and since then, the struggle to retain our rights has been uphill. But fight on we must!

DUN was dissolved today and a new house awaits. So, we look at youth voters – the future of the nation. Simon Siah represents PKR youth and he says the system is not encouraging young voters in. Why not automatic registration when they come of age? His party at least is encouraging younger candidates to steer the party forward. Tune in tomorrow to hear from the other youth wings on how they are bringing the voters in. A good thing too, says Nixon Jerang of Sibuti. The younger generation are getting their information online and they are sharp and knowledgeable. The more they travel, the better informed they become, he says. The future of the nation, indeed.

Tune in for all this and more, plus our Borneo Bulletin.

Jadi jangan beri mereka kuasa lagi. Undilah PH!

RFS membawakan isu mengenai pengundi muda.
