On today’s show, the Election Commission have finally announced the dates for the 11th Sarawak State Election with nominations on 25th April and the people going to the polls on 7th May. Adenan Satem still has 10 days to sort out the final seat issues in his coalition as component parties veer between resigned and resentful over their allocation. We hear live coverage of the announcement by the Election Commission.

Then we speak to Julius, himself a public servant, who names and shames Datuk Lee Kim Shin and Rosey Yunus for still using their government cars to move around despite the fact that they are no longer holding office. Working for the government or not, Julius does not support the policies that he is paid to implement as they suit the ruling party and not the people. But if the people want change, he says, then they must put their name down for change.

We speak to Philip Jau of Save Rivers on the sincerity of the State Government over the cancellation of the Baram dam. The people are pleased, he says, but cautious until the official announcement. But, this doesn’t mean that the problems of the people of Baram are at an end. Lack of roads, logging and land issues still plague them. The fight goes on.

Then we move to our second Sandau Ari in one week, in spite of all the State Government claims that there are no NCR issues in Sarawak anymore! This time the people of Melikin are at Woung Sauwa calling on the Gods for help in the upcoming court battle for their ancestral lands. We hear from several voices on the ground on the election issues of the day. GST and the high cost of living add to their land woes. So, they beg the opposition to remain united for the people. The infighting must stop or the change can never begin.

Our Jako Kenang with Ayak Bujang Tuai rounds up some of the issues from the disgruntled SUPP, stripped of some of its seats, to the dispirited landowners of Betong who have just discovered the true impact of the Section 6 survey. These poor landowners, BN faithful all along, have just discovered that they have been misled. How many more are going to find the same thing once the votes have been cast?

Tune in for all this and more, plus our Borneo Bulletin.

Seterusnya, RFS membawakan dua isu komuniti.
