  • [BERITA UTAMA]

    [TOP STORY]

The decision of the Malaysian government no longer allows the Lynas Factory in Gebeng-Kuantan/Pahang, to carry out the procedure of "fracturing and leaching or importing concentrated lanthanides from Australia. This means that the processing plant may face partial closure or no longer produce radioactive waste in Malaysia.

What is the worst possible effect? According to the Minister, Lynas can still appeal within 30 days. Either approved or not. The government will inform. But if Lynas decides to sue the government. His ministry was adequately prepared. Will the Malaysian government lose a lot if this factory is closed and the government's decision against Lynas will scare and affect investor confidence.

Chang explained that- the government and the people did not get much profit from the Lynas Factory. After all, Lynas did not pay taxes to the government during the 11 years it has been in operation because it was given a tax exemption. After all, investors will be more confident with Malaysia's fixed/unchanged policy and zero tolerance for industries that produce radioactive waste. According to Chang -Malaysia will continue to try to attract quality investment in addition to protecting the environment and the health of Malaysians. As a result of the operation of the Lynas factory - Malaysia is now forced to store 1.08 million metric tons of radioactive waste in PDF form forever.
