*Federal return land to state Gov? then GPS please do the same, return land to the people*
Deputy Prime Minister- Fadilah Yusuf explained that the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change is in the final stages of refining the land return mechanism to the state government. This matter was accelerated as a result of Sarawak Premier Abang Jo's insistence and agreed by PMX during his visit to Sarawak last January. State LAND, owned by the federal government for school buildings, health facilities, fire stations, police stations or military bases, must be returned to the state if there is no sign- sign it will be used within the next three months. The decision, agreed at a meeting of the Action Council for the Implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MTPMA63) chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, applies to all states in the country.
Dennis admits this is a good development. But Dennis expects the state government to do the same. That is, any indigenous people's land that is given to a large company or used for development purposes. If not used should be returned to the indigenous people (land owners). Giving an example in Mulu, 28 years ago an area of 250 hectares of native land was given to the Bursa Mulu company to develop a hotel. Only 3 acres are used for Hotel buildings and approximately 10 acres for other uses. This means that hundreds of acres of the remaining land are abandoned and failed to be developed.
Dennis got information that the Bursa Mulu company leased the land to a financial institution and made a profit of tens of millions of ringgit. Therefore he request that the land for such cases be returned to the indigenous people (land owners). The state government should not have a double standard. Dennis believes that cases like the one in Mulu happen all over Sarawak.

*SPR, it it NOT TOO LATE to allow people apply as ABSENTEE VOTERS*
Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah will hold state elections in June.
At this time, we have an opportunity to simplify the way for voters who are outside the constituency to vote.
Therefore, Bersih suggested that they apply for absentee voters. First, they can vote by mail. Second, they can vote three days or earlier before the election. At this time, they can be part of the catogaries who vote earlier, such as the police, the military, and us It is also required that common voters can do the same, that is, they can vote outside the constituency before the election.
The above is that SPR has the right to provide the above facilities without the need to amend the law.
Likewise, for future state elections in Sarawak and Sabah, or national elections, voting can be done in West Malaysia. You must know that there are at least 150 thousand Sarawakians in West Malaysia, and most of them could not go back to vote in the last Sarawak state election or General election. This leads to lower turnout and the inability of voters to fulfill their responsibilities.
Thomas also comment that MACC should under Parliament and the process of appointing its Chief Commissioner to be scrutinized by the Special Select Committee of Parliament (JPKP)
Last week, PMX Anwar said that he had 'no objection' to reforming the appointment process - BERSIH, IDEAS, and Transparency International-Malaysia were among the bodies that proposed a detailed mechanism.
Bersih understand that any reform mechanism needs to go through the Attorney General's Office (AGC) and be scrutinized by the JPKP, and hope that this is done transparently and involves the participation of civil society organizations.

*End monopolies to allow more and comparable choices for the people*
Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom) will no longer be the sole provider of the services as announced by Transport Minister Anthony Loke on March 24.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak secretary Alan Ling applauds the decision to allow qualified companies to offer periodic motor vehicle inspection services beginning Sept 1, 2024.
Alan Ling comment that, this is a decision that will bring better services and choices to the people. In the past, we often faced the monopoly of Puspakom. Even if we encountered price problems, complicated procedures or long waiting times, we could not solve the problems because there was only one unit that provided car inspection services. He said, such decision by the cabinet will allow other qualified companies to offer such services to the public.
This in turn will create a competitive business environment – the services will be more accessible as compared to the current monopoly practice where there are limited numbers of Puspakom branches.
he is confident that the Ministry will come up with the qualifying criteria before the opening up of the sector to other companies – which should include operational regulations, scope of services and guidelines, and inspection locations.

*What is abang Jo afraid of?*
Regarding Sarawak premier Abang Johari has told federal ministers to inform the state government before making official visits to the state. Abang Johari said the ministers must also detail projects planned by their respective ministries to the Sarawak government to allow state officials to ensure proper coordination. As we all know, there are many unfinished development projects in Sarawak, as well as dilapidated schools waiting to be repaired, so the visit of the ministers can learn more about the situation.
This has nothing to do with "disrespecting the GPS government". The purpose of the ministers from the unity government is to understand the situation in Sarawak and allow the development to be completed smoothly.
So we don't understand why Abang Jo is so defensive? What is he afraid of?
