On today’s show, we get a response from the Ministry of Health on the recent polio case in Sabah, proving itself to be on the case. Dr Jamaitul Aida tells us everything we need to know about polio but, more importantly, confirms that a plan is underway, both to discover the real source of the disease and also to prevent future cases. The Ministry are promising to go to the rural areas to inoculate children, regardless of whether they have documentation or not, as a move to protect all potential victims. Bravo, we say, though watch this space.

Then we speak to Louis anak Chabu in Suai, Niah where a clash with Sachiew Plantations is brewing. After the villagers won their land case, the company still went ahead with excavating the road access to the plantation. When the community attempted to halt their progress, the police came and arrested the villagers instead! After 5 days in lock up and facing a criminal charge, the community are wondering whether the newly empowered MACC can come to their rescue.

We return to renewable energy after Saref comes to a close in Kuching. First we head to Sabah where Diana Sipial from Penampang, of the Taskforce against Kaiduan, tells us about the fight against the Papar Dam, designed to address an apparent water crisis but designated to flood an area of outstanding natural beauty. Meanwhile, Adrian Lasimbang uncovers a case of sleight of hand. After the people were promised an end to the Kaiduan dam in a blaze of political glory, the plans just got pushed up a mere 300m and renamed as Papar. Same, same, how different?

Then Peter Kallang vents his spleen after the second day of Saref as mega-hydro continues to be lauded left and right. Why not solar, he wonders, especially since YB Jugah Moyang of Batang Ai area comes on air to support the proposed solar project by SEB on the surface of the lake there. The area has already been flooded for hydro, so why not get two goes at the proverbial cherry, he asks? Peter Kallang agrees, but only if the people get their say before the project goes ahead (FPIC) and also get their share of the pie in power. After all, we end with Sandung from Lubok Antu, just near the Batang Ai dam site, who still has no electricity to light his way at night.

Peter Kallang ke balat bendar enda setuju enggau pengawa ti begagaka tekat ai, lebuh datai ba hari ti kedua aum besai Saref ke endur bejaku ka pasal project hydro ti besai ke apin bisi pengujung, lalu nanya nama kebuah enda nguna solar, laban YB Jugah Muyang sama mega ngenang pasal kandang endur di Batang Ai ke nyukung project solar ti diperambu SEB ti deka digaga atas ai di tasik nya. Kandang endur nya udah ampuh ai endur ngaga Hydro, lalu nama kebuah project nya enda meri dua bengkah penguntung iya nya ngagai perintah enggau ngagai rayat. Peter Kallang pan setuju, tang patut dulu nanya ngagai orang ti bempu menua, enti sida setuju sebedau project nya ulih digaga(PPIC) lalu orang ti bempu menua patut sama mega bulih penguntung ari nya. Kami ngujungka berita tu, ari ti berandau enggau Sandung ari Lubok Antu, ke diiau enda jauh ari Tekat Ai di Batang Ai, ke lalu apin bisi kuasa karan. Nama kebuah deh. Enti nunda sida ti diiau ba menua nya patut dulu bulih penyamai ari tekat ai nya.
