    1. The PAS and PPBM parties still aim to seize the state government of Perak through the backdoor. This has been confirmed by the Chief Minister of Perak, Sarani Mohd.

    2. Najib failed to replace Judge Laurence Sequerah in the 1MDB case and in the case of money laundering involving SRC International. Najib has requested the Attorney General’s Chambers for a review.

    3. Asfia assumed the position of the Governor (TYT) and confirmed Taib’s illness. However, the Sarawak State Astana has consistently denied the news that Taib is unwell, to the extent that a police report was filed alleging that the news about Taib’s illness is fake. It has been proven that the news is not fake.

*Challenges to Diversity: Critiquing the Push for an Islamic Malay Administration*

Four days ago, a coalition of Islamic NGOs in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan proposed the establishment of an Islamic Malay government/administration without DAP (Chinese) at the state and federal levels. The reason – because of the big victory of all the Muslim Malay candidates in the last 6 state elections and the majority of the current members of parliament are Muslim Malays. Furthermore, according to the Chairman of Ummah Defender Movement – Mohd Zai Mustafa, DAP oppresses Malay Muslims in Selangor and Sembilan state.

According to Dennis, this pro-Islam NGO statement is not true. Monopolizing national and state administration based on Islamic Malay alone is against the concept of power sharing which is the basis of the formation of Malaysia. If this basis is set aside. Then there will be an imbalance that will affect the unity of the country.

Dennis also criticized the racist actions that took place in Sarawak that made Sarawak a rich state but the distribution of wealth was unequal. Melanau Malays dominate everything to the extent that other races continue to lag behind the current of development. The appointment of all important positions is monopolized by Malay/Melanau leaders in the UN.

From the highest positions of TY, Premier, Speaker of the National Assembly, Speaker of the National Assembly to senior positions such as Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers at the federal and state levels. The Dayaks were left out.

The appointment of acting TYT for example. Asfia is a Malay Muslim from the PBB party. While there are still many capable Dayak Iban leaders who are not appointed to that position. If this continues, racial disharmony will occur – according to Dennis. Dennis hopes that the basic concept of the formation of Malaysia (Power sharing among all races) will be the guide for all political parties in this country.

*Orang Asli Neglect and Development Disparities in Kelantan*

In the recent state election trend, PAS retained its ruling position in Kelantan. However, despite numerous development projects being planned and initiated, the anticipated benefits and outcomes have yet to materialize. Furthermore, the economic foundation of the state is facing sustainability challenges, primarily due to its heavy dependence on logging as the main source of income. This overreliance is problematic due to the limited availability of forest resources. The long-term impact on the state's economy is a significant concern.

It's important to note that all development projects are currently handled by the federal government. Regrettably, the state government has not introduced any projects aimed at alleviating poverty among the Orang Asli communities in Kelantan. Compounding these issues is the strained relationship between the Kelantan state government and the federal government. This strained relationship could potentially lead to negative consequences in terms of collaborative efforts and resource allocation.

Furthermore, there has been an encroachment by state government agencies on the lands of Orang Asli communities in Kampung Angkeh. While over 30 individuals have lodged police reports, there are still many who are yet to do so. As a result, the release of a comprehensive press statement has been postponed until all affected villagers have submitted their police reports.

    Nasir Nash, Orang Asli Activist

Nasir Nash Commented on the recent state election, emphasizing that in a democratic country, it is essential to respect and abide by the outcomes. He acknowledged the practice of Islamic concepts by the Kelantan State and noted that while this practice must be accepted, the focus should shift towards evaluating the developmental initiatives led by the state government. Nasir Nash highlighted the importance of evaluating various aspects of development, including economic progress, the well-being of the people, and overall state advancement. Despite the religious context, he emphasized that development should benefit all residents of Kelantan, irrespective of their beliefs.

*Rabies Infected Zone Declared in Marudi Ahead of Baram Regatta 2023 *

The Sarawak Veterinary Services Department (VSD) recently issued a significant announcement, officially designating Marudi as a rabies infected zone. This declaration comes in anticipation of the upcoming Baram Regatta 2023 scheduled for next month, which is expected to draw a considerable number of visitors.

Elias, a concerned local resident, highlighted a shift in the approach towards managing the stray dog population in Marudi. During the initial outbreak of the first rabies case, organizations like the Marudi District Council actively pursued stray dogs as a preventive measure. However, over time, the emphasis on hunting down stray dogs has diminished, leading to a noticeable rise in the number of dogs freely roaming the streets.

This trend has raised several concerns, particularly in light of the upcoming Baram Regatta. Elias called upon individuals who are dog advocates to take responsibility for their pets and prevent them from wandering unrestricted. He stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance to avoid any potential rabies transmission risks during the event.

As Marudi assumes its new classification as a rabies infected zone, the focus on managing the stray dog population gains renewed importance. With the convergence of visitors expected for the Baram Regatta 2023, it is crucial for both local authorities and the public to collaborate in ensuring the safety of everyone by preventing the unchecked roaming of dogs and potential rabies exposure.
