Special Randau
- Switzerland’s prosecutor has indicted two former executives at PetroSaudi, the Geneva-based oil production company, for helping to embezzle $1.8bn from Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, 1MDB, therefore the pardon of Najib is not correct/appropriate/fitting as governments around the world are still actively prosecuting and punishing all those involved in the 1MDB scandal

Nick Kelesau, Penan activist
*Wild boars died of disease, and the Sarawak government needs to send people to investigate*
It seems that wild boars in the inland areas have been infected with a disease and died, and gradually there are fewer and fewer traces of wild boars in the forest. This happened during the epidemic period, and there seems to be no improvement after the epidemic.
RFS received a public report that wild boars seemed to be infected with a disease and died, but it was uncertain what bacterial infection it was, and the government did not send anyone to investigate.Nick Kelesau said that the traces of wild boars have not been seen for a long time. During the epidemic, he found wild boars that died of illness in the forest, but he never saw any wild boars again afterwards. Inland people have not hunted wild boars for a long time.
He believes that it is an infection with a pathogen, and it is also possible that outsiders entered the inland through the mountain road and hunted wild boars recklessly, causing the decrease in the number of wild boars. However, he also stated that the government has not investigated this matter.
He pointed out that inland people, especially the Ben Nan people, have not eaten pork for a long time. Deer, four-legged snakes, and other animals can still be hunted. Nowadays, the price of pork on the market is soaring, and many inland people cannot afford the high price of pork, so they seldom eat pork.
He hopes that the relevant authorities can pay attention to this matter because the reasons for the reduction in the number of wild boars must be found, and the reduction in the number of wild boars is more or less related to ecology.

Jofree Jaraee, Sarawak PAS Commissioner
*PAS Sarawak said NO to Casino in Sarawak*
Jofree criticized the views of Sarawak Tourism Minister Karim Rahman Hamzah, who proposed the construction of a Casino at the Borneo Highlands Resort Tourism Center as an effort to attract tourists and increase the state's income. According to Jaraee this is not the right way. This will add to the problem of people who will be addicted to gambling. Even now the people are facing the problem of gambling addiction - Magnum, Toto and lottery shops. If the Casino center is approved, it will add to the problem of gambling in Sarawak. This will increase the chance of social problems, mortgaged land and moral damage. Regarding the proposal for Sarawak to open its own airline, called BUTIK - Jaraee agreed with the proposal as a measure to reduce the burden of flight costs which he compared to buying a flight ticket abroad. Commenting on the Takbir Hari Raya program organized by PN on TV3 which was canceled at the last minute. Jaraee condemned the action of the central government which canceled the program which was actually motivated by religion and harmony. According to Jaraee, all parties should be given the right to appear on TV and radio. Jaraee also objected to the Prime Minister's open house program in 6 states that will hold state elections. If there is a unity motive, it should also be held in the state of Borneo, said Jaraee.

Agnes from Mukah, small pepper farmer
*urge the GPS gov to provide technology while also solving the issue of fertilizers*
New technology and methods are needed to boost the pepper industry in Sarawak, included the use of new hybrid planting materials and greenhouses to increase production while reducing labour, says Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Initially, Pn Agnes planted over 1000 pepper trees, but now only about 300 trees are still alive and producing yields. Initially, the Department of Agriculture provided training to the longhouse communities on how to grow peppers. However, the price of fertilizer has increased while the price of peppers in and around Mukah and Selangau is only RM6 per kilo. Pn Agnes is forced to transport her pepper yields far to Sarikei to sell for a higher price of around RM12 per kilo, which is a 2-3 hour journey from Mukah to Sarikei.
Another reason for the lack of fertility in crops for small farmers in the Mukah area is air pollution coming from the Mukah aluminum processing plant, the smelter plant. Since the plant was built, it has been difficult for farmers to maintain their crops as fresh as before the plant was constructed. Additionally, the health of the local community has also suffered greatly.
