  • Nicholas Mujah, General Secretary SADIA

*EU regulations apply to maintain long-term environmental sustainability, it is important*

Nicholas Mujah claims that DOPPA misunderstood the European Union's Deforestation-free Products Regulation- EUDR. The EU is not that cruel to restrict the sale of smallholder palm oil. But EU regulations apply to maintain long-term environmental sustainability.

According to Nicholas, the EU buys and will continue to buy Malaysian palm oil as long as it complies with the criteria of sustainable oil palm plantations, and the EU gives up to 5 years for compliance. Among the criteria required by the EU is legal land ownership and easen. Must not usurp the rights of others/Original.

Second is social responsibility - respecting the rights, culture and local customs/wills and needs of the local community and thirdly environmental sustainability such as protected forest areas, catchment areas, clean rivers, historic areas and areas of particular importance to the community. As long as all parties comply with all these rules. The EU has no problem buying their commodity crops.

Nicholas Mujah stressed that the enforcement of the EUDR regulations is important to deal with the issue of unethical farming and confiscation of indigenous people's customary land which is so widespread in Sarawak.

    ----------------------

Nick Kelesau Naan, Spokesperson for the Penan Keruan Organization

*UBFA is managed by community itself, will be no more forest encroachment happend*

On 20 March 2023, ITTO and the Sarawak Forestry Department signed an agreement to start 2 projects aimed at improving the management of the UBFA (Upper Baram Forest Area). UBFA covers an area of 283,500 hectares in the northeast of Sarawak, including primary forest, plantation areas, settlements/longhouses, timber concessions and agricultural land.

With the implementation of UBFA, Nick is confident that there will be no more forest encroachment by logging and oil palm plantation companies. The four ethnic groups in the area—Penan, Kayan Kenyah, Kelabit, and Saban—all depend heavily on the forest for their livelihoods.

Asked what is the difference between UBFA and Taman Negara. The National Park is managed by the Sarawak Forest Department. While UBFA is managed by the community itself. 18 Penan communities, 7 Kayan Kenyah communities, 2 Kelabit communities and 2 mixed communities are involved in this project. The project empowers and trains local people in forest management, landscape restoration and ecotourism.

    ----------------------

Wesley Ancho Mering, from PKR Belaga

*Building roads is an excuse, but the truth is logging*

The Sarawak Forestry Department has acknowledged the need to redouble efforts to tackle illegal logging in Sarawak. Its director Datuk Hamden Mohammad said illegal logging activities are robbing valuable forest resources and tax revenue in the state.

For Wesley this is just Sarawak Forest Department propaganda.

Last year in November 2022, their village Rumah Alip Tubau (in Tubau) was visited by a company to make a good road for the villagers and this company (no names, will get back to RFS later) met their headman to help make a road to the garden.

But what happened was that one by one the logs were pulled using the road and the villagers saw the log trucks carrying the logs and this shocked the villagers. However, the company did not feel afraid because they had a valid logging license, but seeing that, the villagers reported to the Sarawak Forestry Department to take action because the logs taken were in the main water catchment area of the villagers around the area. After not being able to stand the logging, the village head reported to the police but it was too late because tens of tons of logs had already been taken.

At first the villagers allowed the company to build a road on the grounds that the company only took acacia wood that had to go through the village. That's the company's reason, but the story is different, it's not paper wood that's cut down, but logs. After the report was made by the headman, the logging activity was stopped but it was too late for them to save forest because the company managed to remove logs worth hundreds of millions of ringgit.

    ----------------------

    Sharmila of Sahabat Alam Malaysia

*Sahabat Alam Malaysia wants one-stop govt website for forestry, conservation data*

SAM called on govt to develop one stop user friendly website to publish on Forests data and conservation areas.

The reason is as there non one stop Internet website, where we can obtain all data from the 3 regions stored in one website. This will make it easy to obtain informations. We dont have to go to many places.

There are data but in différent ministry website. In the statistic depth data are not detail.

And some data are not consistent. Most people confused.

Especially communities that are affected by logging activités, plantations.

We can just go to one place and the most up to date for research and etc.

> Jeffrey Ngui, President of MUDA Sarawak – urged PAS don’t bring politics into the Sports Game

  • Dennis Along, Activist/Head of Information PKR Baram

*GPS appoint headman to damage the harmony of community*

According to Dennis, there is a tendency to appoint headman according to the political tastes and wishes of YB in an area. For example, the headman who supports GPS will be appointed and the extension of the position/retention of the position will be supported by YB. But any individual who does not support the GPS party will not be appointed as headman. There was also a change of headman because the existing headman did not support logging or oil palm plantation. So a new headman was appointed to support logging and commercial palm oil plantation activities.

This situation has happened in several areas in Baram - according to Dennis. The tendency to appoint headman with political motives to facilitate the victory of GPS in Sarawak. But the effect of this Action damaged the harmony of society. Dennis suggested that a standard method be drafted for the appointment of the headman and that the appointed headman should not attempt to distance himself from politics and defend the rights of the village people from being encroached upon.

    —————————

Micheal Mering Jok, Secretary General of SCRIPS

*No YB in selection committee, while political influence will be the deciding factor in the headman election*

SCRIPS (Sarawak Indigenous Human Rights Organization) has been organizing the Traditional School Program for the past few years. Giving understanding to the indigenous people how the customs and culture of the indigenous people can be maintained, practiced, recorded and the correct practice creates harmonious social interaction.

Regarding the appointment of the headman, Micheal explained that the appointment of the headman should come from the voice of the majority of the village people. Because the village people themselves understand and know who is most qualified to lead them at the village level. When the villagers have made a decision, then the proposed name will be sent to the selection committee at the district level (this committee is made up of members of parliament and assemblymen).

According to Micheal, YB/ or members of parliament should not be members of this committee. Because it is feared that political influence will be the deciding factor in the election. And also this committee should not reject nominations from villagers, if there is no reasonable reason. The role of this committee is only for endorsement/confirmation/ratification only.

Micheal emphasized that the headman who is elected by custom will fully understand the customs and culture of the people and will certainly defend the traditional land which is the heart of the life of the villagers. Headman leaders who allow logging in their areas, this is clear because they are appointed by certain people who have their own motives. Not for the benefit of the villagers.

    —————————

Jeffrey Ngui, President of MUDA Sarawak

*urged PAS don’t bring politics into the Sports Game*

MUDA is happy that sarawak has been chosen as host for SUKMA 2024. And this can bring unity and should be used as platform to Malaysians regardless of race and to uphold the spirit and values of Malaysia Madani

But disapointed we have to entertain irresponsable allégations from PAS.

Those allegations and critics must stop.

We must defand decisions by MSN, KBS, as well as SUKMA committee.

As we all know that Kelantan not ready to hold big sports event and as such need more time for préparation for SUKMA 2028 after several discussions and décision was agreed by all those who were présent in thé meeting between MSN, KBS or chairman and NGO Kelantan.

And who there is issue being brought out by PAS Youth?

*Any headman who has not been formally appointed may contact him for complaint and protest*

The case of illegal logging in Ba Abang is still under investigation. However, it brings up the appointment of headman that informal was bringing issue that – cooperative with logging companies to exploit the communities rights.

He said the appoinemnt of ba abang headman Arun Nyaling is informal. He explained that Arun Nyaling is an outsider, not born and live in ba abang, but was appointed as village chief not long ago. His appointment is not recognized by penghulu. According to the procedures established in the 1980s, the appointment of a village head must first be recommended or recognized by penghulu. This is a custom that continues to this day, and there is a letter of appointment from the DO. However, Arun Nyaling did not get a recommendation from penghulu or a recommendation letter from DO at all. But there is a full set of documents to appoint panai erang.

He also elaborated on the appointment of village chiefs in Ba Pakan and long bedian, and said that these cases were not appointed in accordance with the procedures, and were opposed by villagers and acted against the interests of the village. He said that if there are related cases in other cases, he can be contacted directly.

He said that some people would say that these village chiefs who were not appointed according to the procedures were used by politicians to carry out illegal activities to exploit the rights of the indigenous. He said that as long as there are related allegations, they need to be investigated immediately and verified. But in any case, as long as the village head is not appointed through normal channels, it is an informal appointment.

Abun Sui Anyit, Senator and vice president of PKR Sarawak

*Subsidized goods sell in high prices*

Subsidized goods do not reach the target area. YB Abun asked in the parliament - the complaints of people from the interior that subsidized goods did not reach their areas. The answer from the official HANSARD of the parliament – that logistical factors such as bad roads and having to go through the river are obstacles to sending subsidized goods to rural areas such as Belaga.

To overcome this problem, interior areas need to be provided with good road infrastructure. This is one of the important things he will work on during his time as a senator. On average, the government spends 200 million per year on subsidized basic necessities distribution programs to rural areas. But this year PMX allocated 225 million, an additional 25 million and expanded to 25 new areas including Paloh and Passin in Sarawak. Parit Raja in Terengganu and Kuala Krai in Kelantan. YB Abun feels sad because, even though these subsidized goods reach the interior, there are traders who still sell them at high prices. This puts pressure on people's lives. He suggested that the enforcement authorities tighten monitoring so that there is no waste and corruption.

    —-—————

Thomas Jalong, ex-chairperson of JOAS and activist indigenous rights

*carbon trading still in experimental stage, Sarawakian had many questions to ask GPS gov*

Carbon credits will provide a new source of revenue for Sarawak ranging from RM315 million to RM1.039 billion annually and A Sarawak Climate Change Centre will be established as a centralised hub for coordinating, managing, supporting, and guiding all climate change and carbon trading initiatives in Sarawak, said Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

This carbon trading is a new issue but to us especially sarawak.

Carbon storage not been discussed. Base on observation and research done by several organisations and the scientific association, they are concern on those proposals by sarawak state govt. What we understand, many international Organisations pertaining to climate change, environmental, global warning. Initiative on this carbon storage where there are a lot of uncertainties, on its safety, impacts on atmosphère, climate changé that what been proposed in sarawak on construction of carbon storage will incurre huge budget. Also involve areas which we dont know either on ground or under ground. Also include construction of pipeline leading to certain areas to get the carbon.

As per the record from organisations, it is still in experimental stage. We have seen the proven of successful and safe. So there are many questions especially from the people of sarawak

    —-—————

    Willie Kajan, land rights activist

*state government always make many excuse to delayed the native court cases*

Native courts should aim at resolving cases within three years, or latest by five years, to ensure justice is carried out expeditiously and judiciously, said Deputy Minister in the Premier of Sarawak Department Datuk Gerawat Gala.

Willie Kajan says it's best to walk the talk. Everyone hopes that the land cases and rights cases brought to court can be resolved as soon as possible. However, it is not the indigenous themselves that are often delayed, but the complicated judicial procedures and delays for various reasons.

Willie Kajan himself is one of the prosecutors in the mulu land case. Their case started in 1994, but occasionally it was rescheduled because the court date overlapped with Malaysia Day, or due to insufficient documents, or the judge asked for leave to reschedule, etc. Various reasons caused the case to drag on for longer and longer.

He said that the longer the case drags on, the less beneficial it will be for the indigenous people, because the indigenous people can only resist stubbornly while those in power are looking for opportunities to carry out illegal activities.

He said that GPS should not make various suggestions but just talk, especially not to play with the rights of the indigenous people.

  • Roland Engan, Sarawak PKR Chairman

*the cancellation of headman who appoint by GPS gov, has been taken to court*

The dialogue that took place at the Telang Usan District Office did not go smoothly for trivial reasons. The absence of YB Dennis Ngau is very sad. The reason that the map brought by Penan Ba Abang is invalid cannot be accepted. The forest office can only show a valid map and the Penan Ba Abang can state their Protected Area or forest reserve on the map. Therefore, logging cannot be carried out in protected areas. For the case of the cancellation of Arun Nyaling's appointment which has been taken to court - on 11 April 2023 further arguments will take place in the Miri high court. The problem of the 2 tribal leaders in Ba Abang, Ba Pakan and the case in Long Bedian are among the cases that Mr. Roland Engan is currently paying attention to. Roland strongly objected to the act of using the appointment of a new tribal leader as a license to get permission to log. The right to log does not actually rest in the hands of a village head. Instead it should be decided jointly by all the villagers involved.

    —————————

Patricia Helen, from Ba Abang, a brave Penan woman

*dialogue end quickly as forest office claim that the Map bring by community is invalid*

Five people from Ba Abang led by Patricia Helen attended the dialogue at the Telang Usan District Office to solve the problem of illegal logging in Ba Abang Baram on last friday. However YB Dennis Ngau and Penghulu Ajeng Kiew were not present.

The discussion in the dialogue was not smooth because the forest office disputed the map brought by Patricia. The map brought by Patricia shows the Penan Ba Abang forest area that was encroached by the logging company GT Interhil. The Forest Office said that the map was invalid because it was produced by the BMF. Patricia was directed to Marudi District to get a valid map. The police informed that setting up a blockade is wrong under the law.

Regarding the appointment of Arun Nyaling. There was no further discussion as the case was taken to court for argument. The discussion ended quickly with the excuse that the document Patricia brought was invalid. Patricia and friends rode a motorcycle for over 2 hours to reach the Telang Usan district office.

*Anwar need to rebuild the real reformation movement base on multi racial grass root*

PSM agreed and show supported to Anwar Ibrahim for his speech at the recent PKR special congress that attempts to sow racial and religious discord would not be tolerated.

Annuar in PKR recent congress. Taking his speech, we must not speak for single race politic especially for the states of Borneo, states of West Coast and states of the southern coast of West malaysia.

Lesson learned for Anwar in 22 mths PH govt before. Failure of PH to combat extremist right wing that caused collapsed of PH govt.

Weeks ago supporters felt a bit worry especially the non muslim due to Anwar was seen to continue green wave.

Anwar biggest enemy is PN in paper but his biggest weakness is, he is in line with UMNO president Zahid Hamidi whose name been tarnished. This will give some impact in the coming states election.

Anwar need to rebuild the real reformation movement base on multi racial grass root.

Empowering the people at the grass root

    —————————

Mohd Rafiq bin Shamie, Vice President IIUMS (International Islamic University Malaysia)

*No matter who is in the government, Uni students are always fight for the abolish AUKU*

PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said that the sections of the Universities and University Colleges Act (Auku) 1971 limiting freedom will be repealed, include the sections limiting the freedom of lecturers.

Mohd Rafiq comment that, AUKU has resulted in many Uni students involved in frontline activities being dealt with. We see that the current government is no different from the past government, they see AUKU as a way to deal with the rebellious government.

We can see that the Pakatan Harapan lawmakers who stood on the same front as the university students in the past supported the abolition of AUKU together, but now they have become the government, but they have not shown up.

Therefore, whether it is the college students who started in 1971, the college students until now, and even the college students in the future, they still have to fight for this and insist on the abolition of AUKU.

The government should support college students to think critically, know how to think critically, and dare to speak up, instead of using laws to suppress the political freedom of college students.

    —————————

    Mahmud Epah, PKR Asajaya

*Opposition must STOP to play religious sentiments in their politics now!*

Mahmud Epah condemned the actions of the opposition who often play religious sentiments in their politics.

Mahmud Epah supports Syed Saddiq's desire to call on young people to visit other religious houses of worship.

For those who object this means that their faith is not as strong as Islam.

What's wrong with us Muslims visiting a church, temple after all it is in line with Malaysia as a unity and civilized government. This will further foster our understanding of the diversity of religions in Malaysia.

For example... Mahmud Epah once went to Turkey, an Islamic country, Mahmud had time to pray in a mosque where the mosque was originally a church and is now used by Muslims as a mosque. However, the architecture of the church is still strong and has not been changed by the Turkish government, but Muslims have no problem praying in the mosque even though the image of Christianity is still there.

It is Mahmud's hope that this unity government will succeed in bringing together all races and religions in order to strengthen stability, peace and harmony in community life.

  • Special Report of PKR Congress and Today - Parliament by Stanley Rentap

*Anwar said: don’t play sentiment issue in Malaysia*

On Saturday, a "Malay Proclamation" event that was set to feature former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad was cancelled for the second time. Dr Mahathir was previously reported warning that the Malays could lose all powers completely after the next two general elections, adding that the political dominance of the people was being seriously eroded.

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has directed the authorities to arrest any quarters that use religion and race to incite against the government, even as he urged party members at the party’s special congress on Saturday (March 18) to counter the nativist narrative peddled by the Opposition with “facts and argument”.

The directive marks the first time the prime minister has indicated a willingness to use the law against his political rivals, something he had avoided likely for fear of being accused of wanting to stifle dissent.

    ———————

    Abun Sui, newly appointed Senator

*GPS have to provide cooperation while unity government want to provide infrastructure in Sarawak*

Sworn in as senator today. As a senator, this is a good opportunity to bring the problems faced by Sarawakians into Parliament, which shows that Anwar is very sincere in dealing with Sarawak's problems.

Abun Sui said thta Sarawak needs high-end development and infrastructure development like other cities.

He said it wasn't just cities that needed to be developed, but interior areas such as baram, belaga or julau. It is necessary to ensure that all urban towns have roads to connect them.

He explained that the allocation for road development does come from the federal government, and the federal government also has a budget to provide infrastructure in Sarawak, but the road sections that need to be built involve land, and the land issue needs to be dealt with by the Sarawak state government. Therefore, he urged the Sarawak state government not to obstruct the development of the road, but to provide cooperation.

Nasir Nash, activist of Orang Asli from Kelantan

*UMNO in power 60yr ago, problems not solve yet*

The water supply issues faced by Kelantan folk can be solved if Umno wins the upcoming state election, said its president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

But Nasir Nash said that, the flood and clean water supply is prolong issues. We cannot just look into these issue via policltical platform. If government is concern about these issue, must not in the prospective of political ideology. Now we in the unity government and they must play their role to address issues in Kelantan and not depand of statement government.

If just wait to win the élection only then can solve clean water supply, that is not à brilliant ides. They have to understand that now days people are not stupid. UMNO has been in power over 60 years ago. We can see that there are states under UNMO but problems still not solve yet.

*Kelantan Gov plan to build a HEP DAM that involved orang asli communities*

What we knew that state government plan to build a HEP dam at Sg Nenggiri. This will also imvolve several old settlements, old and new grave yards of the Orang Asli. We reject the building of dam that will also involve eco system of our livelihood.

Currently there is encroachement of aggrassive logging activity in our village. Tuan Man also proposed for building of huge dam for water supply at upper river of gua musang.

We propose to government to build dam to other save place.

There is a reaearch that Sg Nenggiri is a strong water flows, and not suitable for water catchment.

    Robert, activist from Bintulu

*Malaysia is a harmonious country, visit church should be understand each other*

The KL police have opened an investigation paper on the "Jom Ziarah Gereja" programme organised by an NGO under the youth and sports ministry. The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) has criticised the "Jom Ziarah Gereja" programme in the wake of its defence by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, and questioned its publicity material for not stating that it is only for non-Muslims.

For Robert, This program should be accepted and supported. He said that everyone's choice of religion is different, but visiting and getting to know different religions does not mean that they will be influenced and converted, but that they will have a wider range of insights.

Although this activity caused dissatisfaction among some Muslims, for Malaysia, a country with diverse religions and races, this is a harmonious country. Religious and racial issues should not cause uneasiness, but should be used to understand each other.

Kelantan Umno chief Ahmad Jazlan Yaakob has again been announced as the returning chairperson of Felcra Berhad, Bersih disagree with the appointement of ADUNs/MPs as Chairman/Director in GLC.

GLC is a commercial companies related to or belong to government. This mean these companies are tasked to protect sources and funds of our country, and we need really qualified person to play important role in these companies. Not only the politicians. What we want is a transparent process where who ever that person that is appointed as chairman /Director in GLC to go through transparent process regardless they are politicians or not in order to appoint qualified, expert and skilled to look after our resources.

Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari had also called for stern action to be taken over apparent LGBT elements at a women’s rally in front of Sogo and Dataran Merdeka on Sunday.

For Charles Santiago, PAS only focus on LGBT, even if there is a flood in Kelantan, it is an LGBT issue.

There are various issues in Kelantan, including flood issues, social issues, policy issues, etc., but PAS ignores them and only targets LGBT. PAS tried to switch the focus from social issues to LGBT.

Charles stated that, there are reports show 200+ cases of sexual crimes in Kelantan in 2021, of which many victims were in their teens.

He emphasize, It’s time for PAS to look at development issues in the states it governs, on top of the rise in sexual crimes. Training its guns on the LGBT is a cheap tactic and won’t help create progress

*NCR land as carbon storage sites is chance for GPS to take the land*

Sarawak Deputy Premier Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said NCR land with a slope gradient of more than 35 degrees had the potential to be made into carbon storage sites if the owners could be encouraged to stop practising shift cultivation.

What about logging license that never stop given to the timber company? Jimmy asked.

Douglas' plan may be good, Jimmye said, but if logging and palm oil projects continue to grab land in the interior, it will be futile to say too much.

He said that the oil and gas in the past has increased Sarawak’s treasury, but the people have not been lifted out of poverty, and it is the companies, government and businessmen who are making money. Now there is another project, which seems to bring benefits to the interior people, but actually wants to invade the customary land.

*carbon credits stuff cost billions, but GPS government dint mention it*

Carbon credits will provide a new source of revenue for Sarawak ranging from RM315 million to RM1.039 billion annually and A Sarawak Climate Change Centre will be established as a centralised hub for coordinating, managing, supporting, and guiding all climate change and carbon trading initiatives in Sarawak, said Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Izdham Zainal comment that, If Sarawak wants to build focus on carbon credits and it need to build carbon collection storage (CCS) , it will cost a lot. He said, a CCS needs 1.5-2.5billion, it is only based on the cost, and the operating cost is another calculation method, which is an expensive figure, which is not listed by the Sarawak government.

We urge the Sarawak government who want to establish a climate change center that needs to consider the cost, as well as whether there are facilities and professionals, so that it can be carried out more transparently. Rather than promoting, but see no results. They must list all the details.

So far we have not seen any details, no direction, what is the benefit to the people?

Carbon credit is still very new, and everyone does not know how to proceed. The form of buying and selling is also very complicated. A bit like bitcon too, uncontrollable.

According to Global Forest Watch (GFW) from 2001 to 2020, Malaysia lost 8.39Mha of tree cover, during this period Sarawak had accounted for the most tree cover loss at 3.04Mha. this is worrying.

Deforestation is what we need to solve, don't just look at the latest technology, but it doesn't solve the problem of illegal logging.

    Special Randau

*calling on the EU to enforce deforestation-free regulations but exclude smallholders who work their orchards on a small scale*

More than 500 smallholders in the country signed a petition as a joint stance urging the European Union (EU) to review the European Union's Free Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) which is described as discriminatory against smallholders. The petition was sent to the European Union delegation to Malaysia by six representatives of the palm oil sector, namely the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda), the National Association of Smallholders of Malaysia (PKPKM) and the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA). The Sarawak Dayak Palm Oil Planters Association ( DOPPA), the Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELCRA) and the Rubber Industry Smallholder Development Authority (RISDA). The petition, among other things, asks the EU to recognize - Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) and remove Malaysia from the list of countries at risk if the EUDR is implemented.

What the EU is doing is right to protect forests. In Sarawak, logging companies (Samling, Shin Yang, Rimbunan Hujau, MPOB) are racing to apply for land for large-scale oil palm plantations. Before the plantation was opened, this company had made hundreds of millions of ringgit from cutting trees in the virgin forest, the plantation site. This logging company not only logs, but they control the land for at least 60 years. Native people's land was confiscated and forests and rivers were destroyed. We at RFS are calling on the EU to enforce deforestation-free regulations but exclude smallholders who work their orchards on a small scale. These smallholders usually manage their own land and do not clear virgin forests.

*NCR land gazzate as national park but involved logging activities*

Matik is in the midst of conducting community Mapping. For the vidéo in the face book, it happened in Rh Jeffrey Belawit Ulu Tatau. They actually once had received an éviction notice /letter from Sarawak Forestry dépt of Bintulu Division.

The community to leave their Land which they have inhereted from their great grand parents that is their ancestral land. According to the govt, that area been gazzatted as National Park or protected Forest.

But that area also in the Anap Puput FMU. There is a logging company extracting the logs in that area is exiety Sendrian Berhad.

Wonder how come govt evict the community who have been living there for decades.

Puan Amy called the RFS to tell that she thinks the PMX Government should prioritize first. The reason for what is happening today is more focus on restoring the country's economy by attracting foreign investors to Malaysia and combating corruption.

Pn Amy has been following the development and struggle of PMX for a long , she asked, now PMX already ruled for more than 100days, but what about the prices of goods will go down? oil will go down? Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday was accused again in court. This means Muhyiddin has been charged with 7 charges so far. Among other things, the accusation was misuse of power to get political contributions. Muhyiddin questioned that UMNO and PKR also previously received political donations/contributions.

Iswardy explained that there is a clear difference between political donations or bribery/bribery. A gift/contribution or gift can be considered as corruption when the donor/gift directly benefits from his actions. For example, the Bukhary Equity company got a contract from the Jana Wibawa Program where the former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin has authority/control over the awarding of the contract or project. Because it has benefited from the contract, the company involved has made a political donation (200 million) to Muhyiddin Yassin's party. However, if any party or company gives a donation/donation to a party - but the party involved does not get any benefit/profit from the donation. That is considered a political donation. But Iswardy admits that there is indeed a group related to this matter. That is why the current government will present a political funding bill in the near future. The question - isn't UMNO also doing the same thing as Parti BERSATU. Iswardy insisted that, as Hamzah Zainuddin said - if there is evidence UMNO is also involved. Please disclose. PMX has reiterated that he will not protect anyone. Although by doing so the stability of his government is threatened.

  • [BERITA UTAMA]

    [TOP STORY]

Yesterday 12/3/2023 - Baram PKR monthly meeting, as the head of information - Dennis felt called to explain several initiatives implemented by the federal government. It is necessary for every branch of PKR throughout Sarawak to explain how to apply and help the rural residents to benefit from these initiatives.

Baram PKR made a decision to help 1. eliminate extreme poverty (as the central government's target), 2. Help the people of Baram get identity/citizenship documents and propose 3. the establishment of cooperatives for agricultural entrepreneurs. These three efforts will be managed by a secretariat. For now, all Baram residents can come to the BARAM HEIRS office or the Baram PKR Headquarters in Miri - for the officers there to help. Either fill out the form online or submit documents manually. However, in the long term - Dennis hopes that the government will allocate funds so that such programs can be held in more remote areas (Especially penan areas). Where there are many poor families who are in dire need of help. Dennis also hopes that the Prime Minister appoints an authentic person/activist to help accelerate this effort.
