  • *Special Randau*

Sarawak's rural residents are demanding that Anwar's administration address citizenship and MYKAD issues during its tenure. If these issues are not resolved quickly, they may become like a terminal cancer that may not be curable.

*Anwar was urged to act to give rights to citizens who do not have an identity card*

Agnes reported that, Lina Samuel- Sufferer of Stage 4 Colon cancer whose MYKAD was recently confiscated by JPN/KDN. She died at Lawas Hospital at 7 this morning. There was no clear reason given by JPN why his MYKAD was confiscated, apart from being informed that the case is still being investigated and the deceased is suspected to be Indonesian. Agnes insisted that if a case is still under investigation there is no need to confiscate the late Mrs. Lina's MYKAD and the withdrawal of citizenship rights/status should be done in an orderly manner and in accordance with the law and the constitution. What happened to Mrs. Lina added pressure on a 65-year-old woman who is fighting cancer. There are many cases of elderly people still without identity cards in LAWAS/Sarawak. The case involves Basar Arun and Joseph Pengirang - both are over 70 and have fought to defend the sovereignty of this country during the emergency and confrontation against Indonesia. They were given a bravery medal/medal by Queen Elizabeth-for risking their lives fighting against the enemy of the country. Agnes requested that PMX Anwar Ibrahim's administration take the field, understand the problems facing the people of Sarawak that have not been resolved for a long time. There are so many problems faced by the rural communities of Sarawak who do not have identity cards. They are denied their rights as citizens, the right to health care, educational opportunities and employment. We hope that PMX will immediately mobilize efforts to give rights to all citizens.

*is EU also include NCR as classification deforestation?*

Pertaining to EU parliament to approve EUDR is acceptable because the purpose is reduce forest degradation globally to produce sustainable via environmental friendly system. Especially products from agriculture area that were in the first place was forest. but what we concern is that the said regulations are not quite clear the meaning of deforestation . Because all those agriculture areas are originally forest area. So it is quite difficult to say that all those products are  non deforestation process. So this will give negative impact on tropical products like Malaysia. 90 percents agriculture areas are originally forest areas. So it direct impact on Sarawak Sabah economy.

His concern also on areas like Temuda, or cultivated areas which are originally the NCR are mostly planted commercial cash crops such as oil palm, rubber and etc. So is EU also include NCR as classification deforestation?

*The Sarawak government must effectively manage the tourism industry instead of just talking about plans*

The Sarawak government plans to build a casino in Sarawak to attract tourists. In response to this, Jeffrey expressed his agreement but emphasized that the image must be positive and the brand must be positioned in a positive way.

He said that the casino can attract different types of tourists to Sarawak. In addition to the natural scenery and national parks, if the casino is successful and has a positive effect, it can bring more tourism to Sarawak.

He pointed out that the tourism industry in Sarawak is not thriving because the state government is not actively promoting it. Some areas used to have theme parks that could attract families to play, but they were closed due to mismanagement.

He also stated that many tourist attractions in the state are gradually being forgotten due to a lack of proper management. If even the people of Sarawak do not know which tourist destinations exist, let alone visitors from other places.

Therefore, he reiterated that the casino proposal is feasible, but the most important thing is that the Sarawak government must manage the tourism industry properly instead of neglecting it.

Mr Romuald Siew, President of Tahabas

*is time for community leaders to change the habit of politicizing oneself*

MP of Bintulu Datuk Tiong King Sing criticized the actions of some local representatives who treat the village and community leaders (KMKK) as party assets, deviating from the appointment's purpose of serving the people.

Without naming the representatives, the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture said that this unhealthy practice has received many complaints, including from well-performing leaders who may be expelled due to misunderstandings with the political party.
Romuald Siew from The Sarawak Native Customary Rights Land Network (TAHABAS) supporting the statement of MP Bintulu, comment that the attitude of this community leader is increasingly seen as more inclined towards politics because they have been trained by the ruling political party. Therefore, the community leader's attitude is more towards supporting the representative, but it is not too late for the statement from MP Bintulu because this is the time to change the habit of politicizing oneself.
