  • Mr Rosli from kampung UsahaJaya Tukau Miri

*Political Manipulation of Internal Conflicts to Undermine Harmony in the Village*

Last week, Parabena sent people into the village to destroy the villagers' farms. This has caused some villagers to fear, some considered abandoning the farms, and some considered abandoning their homes.

It is said on 06.06.2023, the same team will come again for the next task according to the instructions from the Parabena who ordered the work to destroy the Villager's Farm.

Rosli said that this is Parabena's trick, trying to use actions to intimidate the villagers and make them retreat; what's more, Parabena uses the disharmony in the village to destroy the harmony of the villagers, which is the usual practice of business and politician.

He pointed out that the police are now sent to patrol the village, which undoubtedly puts another kind of pressure on the villagers, rather than being relieved or protected.

    Mrs. Agnes from Selangau

*Abang Jo, Pepper and Rubber where to sell?*

Mrs Agnes shared with RFS about the economic problems of smallholders in the Selangau area because farm’s produce such as pepper and rubber cannot be sold because there are no buyers.

The price of palm oil is in the 500 per ton and also has to bear the cost of very expensive fertilizers and poisons. that's why the people really hope that the central government can help solve the people's problems because the people cannot rely entirely on small aid such as BTR (Bantuan Tunai Rahmah). The people need an economy that recovers with the price of goods no longer rising from time to time. This can be seen during the Gawai festival season. many people are unable to buy festival essentials due to price pressure.
