  1. Elections in 6 states - Voting for the PAS Party will get you a ticket to heaven. The campaign talk is heating up with only 3 days left for the campaign. But unfortunately Parti Islam Semalaysia PAS continues to campaign using racial and religious sentiments. By saying- voting for PAS will go to heaven. While voting for PH/BN - non-Malays (DAP) will dominate the national administration. We continue to ask voters to remain rational, vote for parties and candidates that can bring progress to the state and the nation. Today the early voting started with exciting statistics.

  2. TYT Taib Mahmud will return to Sarawak on 15 August 2023- Astro Awani reports that TYT Sarawak Taib Mahmud is in good health even after undergoing a minor surgical procedure to repair his colon which was previously infected with cancer. But sharing a video on his wife Ragad Kurdi's Instagram account shows Taib is weak and unwell. If Taib is no longer able to carry out his duties as TYT, It is better that the job is given to someone else and he can take a break from official government duties. Taib and his wife are believed to be in Turkey.

  3. The Belaga Regatta is lively despite the shortages. - The Belaga Regatta which closed its curtain on Sunday 6 August 2023. It was lively but full of shortages. Visitors complain that there are no hotels to stay in, the road leading to Belaga is narrow and dangerous, there are no small hawker stalls, uncomfortable places to eat and drink, no stadiums and even no halls for cultural performances. Cultural performances are only held under prefabricated tents. It's really sad. Belaga which is in Hulu Rajang Parliament houses 3 mega hydro dams - Bakun, Murum and Baleh. Belaga is the largest and largest logging area in Malaysia in addition to the richest palm oil plantation area. It's sad that there is no stadium and no multipurpose hall. Sarawak Tourism Minister - Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah in his speech at the Belaga regatta continued to promise to bring development. Even though it has been 60 years since the promise was made. But still not fulfilled. Will the people of Belaga continue to vote for GPS?

Chiew Choon Man, a representative of the PKR, has contributed RM30,000 to the CCEP Foundation for this initiative. The program aims to support individuals facing financial constraints and in need of medical care, reflecting Chiew's commitment to improving medical services in Miri, particularly in areas like oncology and heart care. Patients encountering financial difficulties can seek assistance through the Medical Social Work Service at Miri Hospital.   *Orang Asli Supports Pro-Community Candidates in Gua Musang*

  The ongoing campaign trend involves a collaborative effort between the Orang Asli team and political parties such as DAP, UMNO, AMANAH, and PKR. This alliance aims to support candidates who prioritize the well-being of the Orang Asli community in three constituencies within Gua Musang during the current state election. The goal is to bring about positive change and representation for the Orang Asli population. A noteworthy initiative is the allocation of 200 million Malaysian Ringgit for road maintenance from Kuala Betis to Pos Bihai. This initiative addresses a long-standing need for improved infrastructure within the Orang Asli areas. However, it's important to acknowledge that other regions also require funding for road maintenance to ensure better accessibility to essential services such as schools and towns. This allocation not only facilitates easier access to education and town centers but also contributes to the overall development and upliftment of the Orang Asli community. While the current focus is on the Kuala Betis to Pos Bihai route, it's crucial for future planning and budgeting to consider the road maintenance needs of other areas as well.   David, a vegetable vendor from Miri

  *Questioning Accuracy: Miri Vegetable Seller Challenges Household Income Data*

  Sarawak's mean monthly household gross income showed growth of 6.9% in urban and 8.6% in rural areas from 2019 to 2022, as per Department of Statistics Malaysia. Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, emphasized the positive trend in household incomes across both settings.

  David stated that the report from the Malaysian Department of Statistics regarding the average monthly household income is inaccurate and merely a gimmick. David, who has been working as a vegetable delivery person in Miri, has never experienced an income exceeding 3,000 Malaysian Ringgit per month. Despite working with a minimum wage of 1,500 Ringgit, including sales allowances, his earnings have never reached 3,000 to 4,000 Ringgit. David is puzzled by how the department can release data indicating such high average monthly incomes. He views this as a deception regarding the people's income. In David's opinion, the department's report might be more applicable to those in positions within high-income companies, based on their roles. However, for low-wage private sector workers earning around 1,500 to 1,800 Ringgit per month, this is a far cry from the reported range of 4,000 to 7,000 Ringgit per month.

  *Deputy Minister Linked to Encroaching Logging Companies*

  Two months ago, residents of Belanga Long Bangan village discovered that their customary land had been encroached upon by two logging companies, namely MM Golden and UU Green Sdn Bhd. According to the villagers' investigation through the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Huang Tiong Sii, is the owner of MM Golden, holding 99.5 percent of the shares, while his child holds 0.5 percent. Although Huang Tiong Sii announced on December 6, 2022, that he was no longer a director of MM Golden, it has been found that he is the owner. The villagers of Long Bangan reported the incident two months ago and also lodged a complaint with the local government, requesting a thorough investigation. However, after waiting for a considerable time, they have yet to receive a response. Today, they once again went to the SG Asap police station to file a report and, accompanied by the police, proceeded to the logging site where both logging companies were observed operating. The police also accompanied them to the camp site to request a meeting with the manager of MM Golden, in order to ask for evidence. However, the manager was not present. He mentioned that the police advised the villagers to negotiate with the personnel from the logging companies first before filing an official report.

  *illegal logging activities in Ulu Kakus is slowing down*

  A few months ago, logging activities without the community's consent were reported in Belaga Ulu Kakus. Philip mentioned that despite his previous statement that the logging activities had not yet ceased, they seemed to have slowed down somewhat. He stated that the land being logged did not affect many villagers, leading to their opposition to the logging process being relatively isolated. Due to other villagers repeatedly requesting trivial matters such as wood for building houses from the logging company ARD Company, the company grew frustrated and considered abandoning logging activities in the area. He pointed out that ARD Company has a connection with Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Huang Tiong Sii.

  Starting from last year, the Subsidy LPG program was introduced for the residents of Sibu. This initiative takes place every two months and aims to alleviate the burden on the people. Despite the rising cost of living, providing this subsidy to the citizens continues, even though this year's prices have stabilized to some extent. Cooking gas prices have been subsidized for every eligible individual, regardless of whether they fall under the M40 category or others. As long as there is a need, we are committed to providing assistance.

  Nicholas Bawin, Dayak activist

  *Unrestricted Dayak Advocacy: Voices of Non-Pro-Government NGOs*

  Nicholas Bawin commented on the statement made by Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil during a recent dinner event for the Dayak community in Miri. Penguang called for all NGOs to unite under one umbrella so that the Dayak voice could be consolidated more strongly, as there are currently too many Dayak NGOs established. Nicholas Bawin mentioned that the idea of uniting all Dayak NGOs, as proposed by the Minister, is indeed commendable, but what is its purpose for the entire Dayak community? For instance, SADIA's headquarters in Kuching, as an example, tirelessly fights alongside the Dayak people, especially against the encroachment of Dayak customary land rights. Nicholas Bawin has frequently appeared as an expert witness in NCR (Native Customary Rights) cases in court, but has never witnessed any NGOs like SIDS stepping in to support the community.

  An NGO association that often receives funding from elected representatives or the government becomes tied to pro-government programs, and their voice cannot be independent in advocating for Dayak interests. Only NGOs that are not pro-government are free to voice their concerns, as they are not indebted to any funds from the government or elected representatives. The question here is, what is the function or role of pro-government NGOs in relation to the Dayak community?

  *Sarawak's Future Demands Asset Declaration: Following PSM and MUDA's Lead in 6 PRN State Elections*

  According to Jeff, all 19 MUDA Party candidates who are contesting in the elections in 6 states this time have declared their property and assets through sworn statements (SD). It is important for every candidate who contests to do so, so that the people can know the financial status of each candidate and the people can monitor the development of their assets if they win and are elected as Minister or deputy Minister. This record is very important so that YB who wins does not misuse his position to enrich himself. The MUDA party has long suggested that a property/asset declaration deed be created. This act should apply to all representatives of the people in the national assembly, parliament, state assembly and candidates who volunteer in the election. But according to Jeff, Ministers, Deputy Ministers and YBs in Sarawak have not declared their assets. This has caused many parties to raise doubts about their assets. The MUDA party hopes that, starting with the elections in these 6 states, a good practice will begin, each candidate voluntarily declaring their assets for public viewing.

  Samban Tugang, Project Manager of Save Rivers

  *Incomplete Government Support in Coffee Cultivation Training*

  Save Rivers, in collaboration with local coffee planters, organized an agroforestry and coffee planting course in Lundu, Kuching, from July 17th to 22nd. The course aimed to introduce sustainable agroforestry practices and impart knowledge on cultivating high-quality coffee.

  Seventeen participants from Ulu Baram communities, including Samban herself, attended the course. Among them were both experienced coffee planters and beginners who displayed a keen interest in coffee cultivation. The course covered various topics, including selecting suitable plant varieties, implementing effective protection measures, processing methods, and strategies for marketing the final coffee products.

  Interestingly, some participants had prior experience in coffee planting but lacked guidance on monitoring techniques and identifying suitable markets. In the Long Banga community, the government had provided coffee seedlings, albeit without further support. Additionally, the communities received coffee bean processing machines to enhance their production capabilities.

  During the course, a new coffee brand called "Libaricca" was introduced. This coffee variety is specifically suited for the soil conditions of Sarawak, thriving at moderate elevations and adapting well to the rainforest environment.

  *Empowering Sarawak's Interior by federal government, not by GPS gov*

  Internet service provider company, Starlink, will initiate its services in higher education institutions (IPT) and schools first, said Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil on July.

  In just one month, schools in the interior have begun the installation of Starlink, leaving the people of Sarawak's interior in awe. The development achieved under the unity government of Sarawak is proving to be more than mere empty promises. Robert stated that even though the unity government has been in power for only 7 months, its efforts to combat corruption, drive reform, and promote development have been remarkably proactive. In comparison to the previous BN or PN governments, this is a truly service-oriented administration. He believes that under the unity government, especially under Anwar's supervision, the federal government will genuinely deliver on its promises for state development and benefit the local communities. And state government has no excuse to reject it.

  He mentioned that with six states in West Malaysia set for elections, he hopes voters will carefully select candidates affiliated with the unity government to ensure synchronized development with the federal administration.

  *Wealth Inequality in Sarawak: 10% Control Majority of State's Resources*

  According to data from the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) in June 2023, Sarawak, Kelantan, and Sabah are ranked as the top three poorest states in Malaysia. Among them, Sarawak has the highest number of households with income below RM 2,000, totaling 88,173 households. However, Abang Johari has stated that cash should not be the sole measure of people's wealth. He pointed out that many people in Sarawak own land, and land is considered as their assets.

  The Sarawak Chief Minister must accept the fact that Sarawak is indeed a high-income state. However, the distribution of wealth is concentrated among only 10% of the Sarawak population who have close connections with the political leaders in the state. Abang Johari also claims that the statistics released by the federal government are misleading, but this is not accurate. Official statistics issued by the government are undoubtedly based on international standards.

  We, the people of Sarawak, question whether during the decades of rule by PBB/GPS, the government has surveyed and granted land to the people. How is it possible for the people to own land when the Sarawak government does not recognize the ownership of NCR (Native Customary Rights) land that has not been surveyed?

  *Civil Societies Seek Judicial Review of Controversial NCA in Sabah*

  Civil societies in Sabah have raised serious concerns about a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Sabah State government and Hock Standard Limited, a Singapore-based company. The MOU grants Hock Standard exclusive rights to manage a vast 2 million hectares of forest in Sabah for a staggering 100 years. This long-term commitment, without any provision for the state government to rescind the agreement, has prompted fears of potential risks and consequences for future generations.

  The lack of transparency and due diligence in the processes followed by both the state government and Hock Standard Limited has drawn criticism from Sabah's civil society organizations (CSOs). They believe the MOU requires a thorough and detailed examination to ensure everyone understands the purpose and implications of entering into the Non-Conservation Area (NCA) agreement.

  Currently, the benefits of the NCA remain unclear, and the value of carbon generated from this endeavor is yet to be determined. Hock Standard Limited has introduced speculation about the potential value of carbon, but CSOs have demanded more transparent information and proper funding resources to support their claims.

  Without concrete supporting facts, the market for carbon credits appears uncertain and unconvincing. Recently, a podcast addressing the NCA issue raised many questions from the public. However, the lack of understanding about NCA, carbon trading, and carbon credit generation has created confusion and misinformation. As a result, the matter is vulnerable to manipulation.

  In light of these concerns, civil societies in Sabah are moving forward with their plan to file a Judicial Review against the MOU. They seek clarity, transparency, and public awareness on the matter, urging the state government and Hock Standard Limited to address their concerns and engage in a more open and informative dialogue. Protecting Sabah's natural resources and ensuring sustainable practices for future generations are at the core of their demands.

  Peter John Jaban, Activist and deputy president of the Global Human Right federation (GHRF)

  *5 NGOs dragged the IGP and AG to court*

  On July 31, 2023, 5 NGO GROUPS led by the Global Human Rights Federation (GHRF) took legal action against the Chief of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Idrus Harun and the Attorney General (AG) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain regarding the failure of the authorities to prosecute the controversial preacher Syakir Nasoha.

  Those who filed the application through Messrs. Gunaseelan & Associates also want a declaration that the refusal to act against Syakir Nasoha is illegal and an abuse of power on the part of the KPN and the Attorney General. The judicial review proceedings against the Attorney General and IGP were heard before Judge Datuk Ahmad Kamal Md Shahid at the Kuala Lumpur High Court. Judgment will be delivered on Sept 26 at 2.30pm.

  Commenting on the court hearing, Global Human Rights Federation GHRF deputy president Peter John Jaban expressed his disappointment by claiming that Malaysians have lost faith in the authorities who are supposed to protect and act in accordance with Article 8 of the Federal Constitution and Rukun Negara.

  Why is Alister Cogia (young Bidayuh from Sarawak), aged 22, sentenced for five charges under Section 298A (1)(a) of the Penal Code, and five charges under Section 233 of the Multimedia and Communications Act 1998. Alister Cogia was sentenced to 10 year and a fine of RM50,000 for all 10 charges.

  Action was taken against Alister so quickly. But no action was taken against Syakir Nasoha. The authorities reason that Syakir Nasoha's speech does not contain inflammatory elements. However, according to Peter John - clearly in the recorded footage - Nasoha accused the infidels in Malaysia/Dayak of killing Muslims in Indonesia. The women were raped and the men were slaughtered. These infidels are said to hate Islam very much. But according to Peter John, this is all wrong. Peter gave an example in his own family of many intermarriages with Muslims. How can we kill our own family? Peter insists that strict action be taken against Syakir Nasoha to prevent such incidents from happening again. Audio recording is attached.

  Belulok from Sungai Asap

  *Rural Community Demands Action Against Companies Misusing Government Fuel Subsidies*

  The rural community is expressing concern about the ongoing issue of commercial vehicles from plantation companies taking advantage of government subsidies by refueling with subsidised RON95 fuel or dissel at the Sungai Asap petrol station.

  The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) Bintulu branch has already taken action against the petrol station operator for selling subsidised fuel to a foreign-registered vehicle.

  In response to this situation, Belulok is questioning whether companies that are misusing government-subsidised fuel for their commercial vehicles should also be held accountable.

  He emphasize that the Sarawak state government should take responsibility for overseeing petrol stations to prevent such abuse of subsidies. Otherwise, it creates a situation where citizens find the petrol station running out of fuel when they need it, due to improper usage by commercial vehicles.

  As this issue is a matter of concern for the community, the authorities need to address and monitor the situation to ensure that government subsidies are being utilized appropriately and that all users, including companies, are abiding by the regulations. The misuse of government subsidies undermines the intended benefits for citizens and could lead to fuel shortages if not properly regulated.

  Perikatan Nasional (PN/PAS) Youth Leader Ahmad Fadhil Shaari- said that it is not impossible that there will be a change of central government if PN wins big on the night of August 12. According to Ahmad - the constitution allows the change of government through various means. But Iswardy said that the method allowed by the constitution is a vote of confidence/no confidence in parliament. This method has been proven to fail in the opening session of the last term of parliament. While the second way, according to Iswardy is - support through a sworn statement (SD) but this way has been abolished through the anti-party jumping act. So the last way is with en bloc support. However, whatever the outcome of the PRN will not change the composition of the parliamentary seats. As such, there is no need for UMNO/GPS or GRS to change their support for the PMX-led government. After all, the service record of PAS and PPBM led by Muhyiddin Yassin is very bad - in the state government or the central government when they ruled. Therefore, Iswardy remains confident that the unity government will get the support of voters in the 6 states that hold elections.

  Before the formation of the Unity Government, the issue of undocumented individuals in Sarawak was often overlooked, and the chances of successful applications were very low. However, after the formation of the Unity Government, in Lawas alone, Agnes, who is in charge, has successfully handled up to 40 cases. She sees this as a positive start. Agnes emphasized that addressing the issue of undocumented individuals cannot rely solely on individual voices; it requires the involvement of more non-governmental organizations and activists to collectively raise this issue to the government's attention. If only one or two individuals make complaints, the problem will not resonate enough. Currently, applications and follow-ups are mainly done through online channels, but there are still many people in remote areas who are unaware of the process or how to track their applications. As a result, they have to personally visit the National Registration Department (JPN), which consumes time and money. Agnes believes that those who cannot apply or follow up through online means can seek assistance from community-based non-governmental organizations or activists. This way, unnecessary costs and time can be reduced.

  On July 28, Ibraco Construction Sdb.Bhd received the LOA- Letter of acceptance from JKR Sarawak. For the Project worth RM529.83 million for the construction of a bridge in Batang Semarahan and a 9 KM long 2 lane four lane road from Batang Samarahan to Batang Sadong.

  Dennis questioned why Ibraco obtained a contract worth more than half a billion ringgit without an open tender. Is it because Ibraco is related/owned by Taib Mahmud TYT Sarawak? According to Dennis, why are the bridge and road projects only concentrated in the PBB-Melayu Melanau party area? Whereas for more than 60 years the people in Baram and the upper reaches of Rajang, Limbang and Lawas have been waiting for a road to reach their village. What Sarawak Premier Abang Joe is doing is contrary to what PMX Anwar Ibrahim wants.

  Dennis also questioned why during the absence of Taib TYT Sarawak, no acting was appointed? For Dennis, the people of Sarawak have the right to ask and question the unfair actions that took place in the administration of Abang Joe in Sarawak.

  *FPIC Abuse: The Questionable Consent Process in Sabah's NCA Project*

  Recently, a concerning case came to light where a company involved in the National Conservation Area (NCA) collaborated with the Sabah government to organize a closed-door seminar at KDCA (Kadazandusun Cultural Association) and invited 16 so-called cultural associations of Sabah natives.

  The purpose of this seminar was to obtain Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) from these associations, but it was evident that they did not fully understand the true meaning and purpose of FPIC.

  During the seminar, only representatives from the company responsible for the NCA were present, and they purportedly convinced the representatives of these cultural organizations to provide their consent. This approach is troubling as it deviates from the standards set by the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), which emphasizes that FPIC is a mechanism to protect the rights of indigenous communities and not a tool for justifying government programs.

  This manipulation of the FPIC process is used to suppress objections to controversial projects by the company and the government. Further investigation revealed that these cultural associations do not genuinely represent the respective ethnic groups they claim to represent. Instead, they were established by individuals with political connections and do not have significant membership support.

  Some concerned citizens, like Barnie, took the initiative to reach out to friends and inquire whether these associations truly endorsed the NCA program. The shocking revelations raised doubts about the legitimacy of the consent obtained. In a proper FPIC process, an official document outlining the project's details should be provided to the affected communities well before any meeting or consultation takes place.

  Unfortunately, in this situation, such a document was not given, which clearly constitutes an abuse of the FPIC process. Furthermore, when Barnie attempted to obtain documents related to the NCA through a legal case, he faced obstacles as the company and the government failed to provide a map showing the exact location of the project. This lack of transparency raises concerns about how the affected communities are expected to know the extent of the impact on their lands and livelihoods.

  Overall, this case highlights a worrying trend where FPIC is misused to advance certain agendas without genuine consent from indigenous communities. Proper adherence to UNDRIP principles and transparent communication with the affected communities are essential to ensure the protection of their rights and prevent further manipulative practices in the future.

  *A Path to Education and Identity*

  It has been a lengthy process for Peter Hee, a member of DAPSY (Democratic Action Party Youth), to assist a 13-year-old schoolchild in gaining entry to secondary school. The child's father, who was from Sarawak, has passed away, and the mother is of Indonesian nationality. As a result, the child has not had proper identification documents since a young age, which has prevented them from enrolling in school smoothly. Without a Malaysian identity card (MyKad), the child cannot access free education and is required to pay several hundred Ringgit each month. Despite applying for a MyKad for several years, the process is still ongoing and the child has not yet obtained the necessary identification documents.

  Peter Hee is committed to helping the child until they obtain their identity card (IC), and he hopes that the government, specifically the Unity Government, can also aid in resolving IC-related issues across the entire country.

  Sadia Kuching branch aims to maintain a close relationship with the government, as stated by executive committee member Anthony Tukang. The current leadership has chosen this direction due to its practicality in the present circumstances.

  Robert was formerly active in Sadia Bintulu branch, and he expressed his belief that Kuching Branch's alignment with the GPS state government is solely their decision and does not represent the decisions of all branches, including Bintulu, Sibu, and other suburban branches.

  He pointed out that the suburban branches of Sadia are still addressing land issues and identification problems faced by the Dayak people. These problems result from mismanagement by the state government, making alignment with them unnecessary.

  Instead, the focus should be on supervising and advocating for the rights of the Dayak people.

  Robert also emphasized that the alignment of Kuching Branch with GPS might lead to confusion regarding Sadia's purpose. He clarified that Sadia is committed to assisting both Dayak and non-Dayak people, as long as they face indigenous rights issues, especially those related to lacking identification documents and encroachment on customary lands.

  *State Elections Heating Up*

  On Saturday, the nomination day proceeded smoothly with 570 candidates registering to contest for 254 state legislative seats. One of the contested seats is Dun Amirudin N. Sembilan Sikamat, which is where RFS’s political editor Stanley Rentap stayed to observe the states election campaign in Peninsular.

  Currently, the cooperation between the PH and the BN is going well. In states where the BN is stronger, such as Kelantan, Kedah, and Terengganu, they have fielded a greater number of candidates. On the other hand, in states where the PH is more dominant and has been in power for several terms, such as Selangor, Penang, and Negeri Sembilan, they have put forth a larger representation of candidates. Overall, the working relationship between the two coalitions appears to be harmonious.

  According to observations after last Saturday's nomination day, candidates from the PH in Negeri Sembilan, Penang, and Selangor have been highlighting their achievements and performance from the past five years. They aim to demonstrate their capabilities and success in uplifting the economy and fostering the well-being of the people. On the other hand, candidates primarily from the PAS and the PN coalition have been relying on religious and racial sentiments without presenting any substantial achievements, despite PAS being in power in Kelantan for multiple terms.

  Stanley stated that the upcoming phase will focus on how each party and candidate conduct their campaign activities to win the support of the voters. He mentioned that the current stage is just a warm-up, and he believes there will be more on-the-ground reporting for RFS listeners in the future.

  *The Impact of Social Media on Young Voters in the Six States Elections*

  The nomination of election candidates in 6 states in peninsular Malaysia took place on Saturday 29 July 2023. In GE15 there was a significant increase in young voters, that is a total of 7 million voters. What are the tendencies of young voters this time, what factors influence their choice.

  According to Abqari- as a young Malay and Muslim, he will consider choosing and giving a chance to a party with a good record of service and administration. In Selangor, the areca nut island and the state of Sembilan show an increase in economy and administrative efficiency. But on the other hand in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah - the PAS administration is less convincing.

  Added to the case of the Kedah Chief Minister who was recently brought to court on charges under the sedition act for insulting the king of Selangor. The Menteri Besar of Kedah is also linked to the weakness of state governance. The weakness of the PAS administration will make it difficult for them to defend the states they govern. But according to Abqari, Not all young voters have good political knowledge. Therefore there will still be young voters who will vote based on emotions and not based on a good administrative record.

  Asked what campaign medium most influenced young voters. Abqari is confident that social media such as FB and Tik Tok will be very effective in influencing young voters. Young people do not have time to attend talks. So they are only waiting for reports in the media. Abqari is confident that whichever party dominates the social media campaign will win a lot of seats. Overall, PH/BN is expected to win in Penang, Sembilan and Selangor. However, PN/PAS will win some seats, especially Malay majority seats. In Kelantan and Terengganu PN/PAS will remain in power. Except in Kedah it is not yet known which Party will win.

  Yes from what we can see from BMF research where there are so many companies are link to Taib in many countries.

  As a politician this is obviously not normal.

  This is an extraordinary for a person that been a leader of the state and now still a governor of Sarawak and who has the capacity to register hundreds of companies all over the world.

  There are rare people who are related to too many companies like this.

  But if we want response whether these issue are drivers to land grab or explanation, we must do a research and investigations in more detail to every companies.

  We have the right to request for explanation from Taib himself or representative, but they don't have responsibilty to response to our queries. Unless we summons them and there must be a police report. Or there must an investigation.

  Astana Sarawak has filed a police report against the report that Sarawak TYT Taib Mahmud is in critical condition. Astana assured the public that TYT was healthy and on holiday abroad. However, making a police report is not a good way to prove TYT Taib's health. The best way is to show where Taib is and the latest state of his health.

  According to Baru Bian, the people have the right to question and are entitled to a true report. If there is evidence and it is confirmed that TYT Taib is unwell, then it is appropriate for the Agong/King to appoint his successor to launch the administration of the state of Sarawak.   There are six states that are holding elections in Peninsular. The nomination day for these elections is set for July 29, and the polling day is scheduled for August 12. Although the official campaign period has not yet begun, several political party leaders have already started expressing their views openly on various platforms.

  One of the key observations made by a prominent leader is the stark contrast in the policies and reforms advocated by the leaders of the unity government compared to those of the PN. The leaders of the unity government are emphasizing policies that focus on benefiting the people through various reforms and economic assistance programs. On the other hand, he criticize the PN for engaging in inflammatory actions that seem to lack any tangible benefits for the public.

  As the election campaign gains momentum, each political party is expected to employ different strategies to garner support.   *GPS Gov Inaction: Farmers Left to Rely on NGO - PETAPAN's Support*

  An agricultural NGO named Petapan from Lundu, led by Meneng Biris, has contributed significantly to the agricultural and livestock needs of farmers in the Lundu area due to the lingering economic impact that is still not fully recovered, placing immense pressure on farmers and livestock breeders. Meneng Biris and her NGO have donated 400 young chicks to support poultry farmers and alleviate their burden of purchasing new chicks.

  Recently, YB Mordi Bimol donated 10,000 to support the NGO's initiatives. The concern raised by Meneng and his PETAPAN NGO is that they do not see a strong inclination from government agencies to assist the people. The Department of Agriculture is not actively organizing any aid or support to contribute to the people's needs. Therefore, PETAPAN takes it upon themselves to assist those who seek to advance the agricultural and poultry farming sector.

  *Six States Election: team reformasi vs team sakau*

  Preliminary analysis of the election in 6 shows that the unity government is able to maintain victory in Selangor, PP and N9. While the chances in Kedah are relatively open 50/50 and the results in Kelantan and Terengganu depend on the success of the UMNO campaign which fielded many candidates in the 2 states involved. But campaigns on social media are more able to attract the attention of young voters than open talks.

  The clash this time, according to Iswardy- is the reformation team clashing/fighting against the team of people's property thieves and racial and religious extremists led by Hadi, Mahathir, Muhyiddin and Azmin. While UMNO is a party that has just realized that their struggle has been distorted and is trying to correct the situation by joining Anwar Ibrahim.

  For Iswardy- voters should be sane to vote. Voters can evaluate the progress enjoyed in Selangor, PP and N9 compared to Kelantan and Terengganu led by the PAS Party. Voters should value the economic achievements, transparency and integrity in PH-governed states and also value the achievements of Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu which are governed by the PAS Party.

  Iswardy challenged PAS to file a police report if any PH/unity government leader steals people's money. It's quite funny according to Iswardy when Hadi praises Mahathir who has returned to the base of the road.

  While Hadi criticized Anwar for tarnishing the PAS Party's image as a religious extremist and because of Anwar's political actions, DAP became stronger. In 1998 PAS supported Anwar when Mahathir was fired, because at that time PAS wanted reforms to the system that was broken under Mahathir's administration and demanded good governance. Surprisingly now PAS praises Mahathir and blames Anwar. This is proof that PAS is not consistent in the struggle. The nomination of election candidates in 6 states will take place on 29 July and voting day on 12 August 2023.

  *13 Villagers Await Justice Against Land Survey and GPS Government*

  Despite the last house in Kampung Usahajaya Tukau being demolished by Parabena, 13 villagers are still awaiting their turn to sue the Sarawak GPS government and Land Survey for negligence in the sale of the village to Parabena.

  Desmond Laing stated that even though Kampung Usahajaya Tukau lost the legal battle against Parabena in the High Court, Federal Court, and Court of Appeal, resulting in Parabena acquiring ownership of the village, one of the plots of land, Lot 189, was previously recognized by former Chief Minister Adenan Satem as a village with basic amenities such as water and electricity, proving its legitimacy.

  He mentioned that with this evidence, the 13 individuals have a strong chance of successfully suing the land survey and GPS government. However, other villagers chose to negotiate with Parabena earlier and have been waiting repeatedly for compensation, which ultimately led to the demolition of their houses without receiving equal compensation.

  Desmond Laing emphasized that since the 13 individuals are pursuing individual claims and not representing the entire village, it will take time for the lawyers to complete all the necessary legal procedures before filing the lawsuit. He stated that the lawsuit will be filed in the near future.

  Jimmy shares his observations of the situation in rural schools. He is a driver responsible for delivering food supplies to these interior schools.

  He noticed that rural schools lack administrative assistants. He has been closely monitoring the issues faced by these rural primary schools, and many teachers have complained about having to bear a heavier workload due to the lack of sufficient administrative support.

  This is because the schools do not have an adequate number of administrative assistants. Has the Ministry been aware of this problem for so long? Jimmy was informed by his fellow teacher friends that many graduates are still unemployed. Why aren't they invited to apply for administrative assistant positions so that they can have employment opportunities?

  If the issue of administrative assistant positions is related to quotas, then the quota system should be abolished. It cannot be denied that the government still plays a role in the quota system, but this has been blocking opportunities for qualified young individuals, resulting in high unemployment rates among graduates year after year.

  *Road Upgrades Set to Improve Gua Musang's Livelihood*

  During a recent visit by the PM to Gua Musang, an important announcement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister, Zahid, regarding the allocation of RM200 million for road upgrades leading to Pos Balar, Pos Belatim, and Pos Bihai. These three areas are home to approximately 6,000 residents. For the local residents, this announcement represents a significant milestone they have been eagerly anticipating for the past 60 years. The road upgrading project holds the promise of bringing immense convenience to the communities in various aspects of their daily lives. One of the primary benefits of the road upgrade will be improved access to education for the residents' children. With better road connectivity, it will become much easier for students to commute to school. Moreover, the upgraded roads will play a crucial role in ensuring safety during emergencies.

  With better roads, the local communities will have enhanced opportunities to engage in trade and commerce. The improved connectivity will facilitate the transportation of goods and products to markets, making it much easier for the residents to sell their produce and generate income.

  The residents are eagerly looking forward to witnessing the transformation of their roads in the near future. The long-awaited road upgrades are now within reach, and the communities are excited to see the positive changes it will bring to their daily routines and aspirations.

  *The Madinah Constitution is not necessary in Sarawak*

  As a multi-ethnic state, Sarawak does not need the Madinah (Islamic) constitution as an administrative guide - Dennis Along said. The Premier of Sarawak said in the 2-day International Conference of Islamic Scholars held in Kuching, Sarawak.

  According to Abang Johari, the Madinah constitution provides fair governance to the people and prioritizes human values. Therefore the Madinah Constitution will be our guide, said Abang Johari. Dennis Along does not believe in GPS and does not believe in the Madinah Constitution to be fair. Dennis explained - Currently, the GPS administration in Sarawak gives advantages to Malays/Melanau and Muslim residents, while at the same time marginalizing non-Muslims.

  According to Dennis again, The Madinah Constitution that Abang Johari wants to follow is the same as the Malay Proclamation popularized by Tun Mahathir now. It will give advantages to Malays and Muslims. While in the context of Sarawak it is the Melanau Proclamation. Dennis insisted that the Sarawak government be governed using a meritocracy and transparency approach. Anyone with the expertise and competence to govern- should be given space to lead regardless of religion, skin color or descent. Adhering to the Madinah constitution only uses religion for political purposes as done by Tun Mahathir and the PAS Party.

  George Laing from Uma Akeh Baram

  *60 Years of Governance in Sarawak: Progress or Regress?*

  George makes a call to express his views on Sarawak being the wealthiest state. He mentions that Abang Johari also talked about the goal of turning Sarawak into a high-income state for all by 2030. George agrees with the idea but questions how this will be achieved. He wonders why GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) always talks about it but takes no action.

  According to George, this is not the first time GPS has emphasized increasing the income of Sarawak's people, even mentioning a minimum family income of RM 4,000. He asks GPS, what about the inland families? How can they achieve a 4,000 ringgit income?

  In relation to BMF (Bruno Manser Fund) publishing a 14-page document about Taib Mahmud-related company assets, we questions whether this is the source of Sarawak's wealth. These assets are owned by the same individuals, the same families, and their political connections.

  George says that rural people only have land for cultivation to support their families, but the government is not very proactive in promoting agricultural policies. Fertilizers, transportation, and other burdens make it difficult for them. Moreover, NRC land are often exploited by politicians and companies, making it even harder for inland people to achieve high income.

  He points out that in 60 years of governance, the state government has never aimed to improve the lives of inland people, let alone make them prosperous.

  He expresses that rural people don't want to receive help from the state government only when problems arise (such as receiving aid during floods). Instead, they need basic infrastructure like roads, water, electricity, education, and healthcare. He questions why, after 60 years, these necessities are still not provided.

  He shares an example of his own village, which is only 15 kilometers away from Long Lama town but lacks essential facilities such as roads, clean water, and electricity. George states that nobody believes GPS's promises anymore. In conclusion, George expresses his frustration with the fact that Sarawak has been regressing over the past 60 years.

  *Temiar group lodges police report over land encroachment activities*

  2 Orang Asli communities Kpg Mendrod and Kpg Jelgek B lodged police report at Gua Musang police station.

  Since 2016 till now enchroachement to surrounding areas. And this year enchroachment enter their areas. And the areas is believed for durian plantation.

  Prio to the encroachment, their areas were green and beautiful scenery. And now it has been difference. Till now no action taken by the government authorities such as JAKOA.

  After series of discussions but no response that we satisfied. So they have no choice but to lodge to get attention of the govt and other relevant agencies to re study orang Asli cases. Especially on logging that impact the communities . As there is no monitoring. They collaborated with the Kelantan Orang Asli network to voice their issue.

  Other than water catchment, burial site also in danger. Their land too in danger. As the area is in the middle of the plantations, and their forest, farm lands and will also cause losing of their livelihoods.

  The communities are in the midst of compiling their documentations to refer to legal team. They may file this case to court after gathering all informations .
