Jok Jau Ivong, Coordinator of Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM)
*No dialogue arrange by plantation companies and directly encroach the native land*
Jok thinks that the two plantation companies that took the land of the villagers in Nanga Seridan, Long Sepiling and Lebu Kulat (Tinjar, Baram) are very good at manipulating the situation to achieve their goals. The initial step taken by this company should be to call a dialogue with the villagers and implement the survey parameters first. But these two steps were not done. On the other hand, this company encroached on the land of the villagers when there was a dispute between the residents of Nanga Seridan and the residents of Long Sepiling. When two parties fight, it is easy for the aggressors to achieve their goals. If the tense situation between the plantation company and the residents cannot be eased and if dialogue cannot solve their problems. Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM) advises residents to get a court order to stop the encroachment by the Mega Mansor and Miri Timur companies.

Puan Apek from Miri
*IC application decades still in processing*
Puan Apek is an Indonesian citizen and has been married to Sarawakian for 16 years and has 3 children. Their children are 16 yo, 15yo, and 10yo.
Puan Apek said her three children's annual fees were paid at the Miri education office at RM600 a year. Their married are legally according to Iban customs and have a valid marriage certificate.
But still, she need to stamp her Indonesian passport every year with a guarantee from her husband Apek at a cost of RM103.00 a year.
She said that every time they come to the JPN office to check the status of permanent resident IC applications, the JPN often tells them that their application is still in process.
it took their time and money decades, but JPN never told her the reason of taken so long of the process.
RFS suggest her to seek Miri MP for help.

Abun Sui, Senator of PKR Sarawak
*Always ready to assist applicants to follow up the progress of Mykad application*
Every time the applicant's appeal is seen and reported or spread widely, then YBs of GPS will only focus on the case, assist and then show it on media. However, there are still many IC applicants who are ignored, turned a blind eye by YBs, and are still silently waiting for the application results.
He said that these applicants are all Sarawakians and pose no threat to the government. Why are the status of their applications kept on hold or pushed back?
He pointed out that JPN had task force to go rural, but it still didn't solve the problem. He gave an example, JPN requires applicants to show a marriage certificate, and those who do not have a certificate need to go to the JPN in the city to reapply. However, when the applicant went to the JPN in the city, they asked for a Mycard. This is a waste of the applicant's time and money.
Abun Sui said that every time he enters the rural, he will collect the information of the applicants and bring to the city for follow-up, so he urged the applicants to prepare the information so that he can assist in the follow-up.

Asraf, Bersih Steering Committee
*EC must Open Voters Voting to All*
On the coming 6 states elections, Bersih will mobilise elections watch. Where there are already some sarawakians registered as elections watch in several constituencies.
Sarawakians can evaluate on turn out percentage. If the turn out is low, like in West Malaysia roughly about 65 percent and above. Or 70 percents and above, this is slightly higher if compare to percentage in Sarawak recent election.
he urged Sarawakian and NGOs to reform in order to give better election access to voters especially voters who are residing in other states.
For example, Bersih is Insisting on Early Voting Initiative, means early voting before polling day and voters are to be counted in the same place
This is an effort made for next Sarawak state elections, so that Sarawakians in other states can also vote locally instead of traveling long distances, spending time and money to go back to their hometowns to vote.
