Yb Chong Chen Gen, Chairman of Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak.

*Zero Carbon City by 2030? Abang Jo never discussed it in the State Assemply*

In the conference "Shape The World Summit 2023 in Kuching on Wednesday. The Premier of Sarawak said - Sarawak is aiming for Kuching to become a Zero Carbon City by 2030. This is all a false hope - said Chong. According to Chong, the issue related to the full use of hydrogen and electricity in the city of Kuching was never discussed in the Sarawak State Assembly. Until now, there is no policy related to the full use of hydrogen and electricity for public use in Kuching. Therefore, the Premier's statement is just to be heard. Chong requested that the Premier devote all his energy and finances to improving the living standards of the people, especially the poor in rural areas. According to Chong, the current price of electric cars is RM180k and hydrogen cars are not yet available in the Malaysian market. How can this dream of Premiere Sarawak become a reality?? - asked Chong. Full focus on improving the standard of living and welfare of the people of Sarawak - CJ Chong.

*More Dams is only for cronies’ personal interest*

The 1,285mW Baleh hydroelectric project in Kapit is expected to begin operations by 2028, said Premier Abang Johari Openg. He said construction on the Baleh Dam is currently on schedule for completion within the next three to four years although he did not give the current progress percentage.

Dam issue has been hot topic long time ago. Started from Batang AI, bakun, murum and Baram. Now come to Baleh dam in kapit.

Wonder why government still wants more dams. At this stage we have over supply according to capacities. Batang Ai and Bakun dam are operating part of the turbine. So what is the purpose for more dams. Are all these dams needed by the people of sarawak or there is other agendas. Personally I object to dam construction. We have seen dams caused destruction to our forest. One dam flooded thousands hactres of our forest. Are those dams are for the benefit the people or just for their personal interest. I still remember what the Late James Masing said 'no dam no road' what does it mean. We have been objected to any dam construction

But if the local community hesitate to fight against it, what can we do.

The strong struggle is from the affected community. Even if there is NGOs afford, still not enough

*Allegations of Bias and Abuse of Power by Community Leaders in Sarawak*

Tay Wei Wei does not deny that there are still cases of favoritism among community leaders in Sarawak, and he has received several complaints regarding community leaders who refuse to cooperate by signing forms requested by longhouse communities simply because these communities are staunch supporters of the opposition party (PH). Moreover, there are also community leaders who do not distribute government projects to opposition supporters.

Tay Wei Wei emphasizes that this is a wrongdoing, and citizens should not be afraid to report such abuse of power by certain community leaders (not all) to the police. Community leaders who are strong supporters of GPS in Sarawak should adhere to the Prime Minister's instructions and follow the call for "Segulai Sejalai" as recently proclaimed by the Prime Minister.
