    > The Lebanese jewellery firm suing Rosmah Mansor for RM67.46 million over jewellery has described her defence against its lawsuit as “untrue, absurd, illogical and are simply bare assertions and denial”. Global Royalty Trading SAL said this in a filed reply to the statement of defence by the wife of incarcerated former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, over the defendant’s claim that the jewellery was sent to her for “publicity” and that she never sought them in the first place.

    > "It is no reason to give land to Ragad Kurdi. She is wealthy and her wealth is inexhaustible," said Dennis Along.

    > Anie Uleng - The Murum Penan are being ignored by the GPS government. No schools have been built in the 7 Penan settlements in Tegulang and Metalun in Murum

    Dennis Along, activist from Baram

*It is no reason to give land to Ragad Kurdi. She is wealthy and her wealth is inexhaustible*

Spread on social media a PL approved by the Department of Land and Survey - approval of a plot of land in Demak Baru, Jalan Bako Kuching given to Ragad Kurdi Taib. Dennis questioned the need for such land to be given to Ragad. Ragad is the wife of TYT Taib Mahmud - the property of Ragad and her husband will not be exhausted even if spent by their 20 descendants. Dennis requested that the Land and Survey department be disbanded because the Land and Survey department has only been a tool for approving land grants to the wealthy and influential only.

While poor people who apply and ask for land for agricultural use for their survival are not served and are not approved. Take the example of Usahajaya Tukau Miri village. The poor villagers were evicted, while the land of the village site was given to the Parabena developer company (which is related to TYT Taib's family). Dennis insisted that GPS Sarawak should be held accountable for the Land and Survey department's failure to help the poor.

Anyie Uleng, penan from Long Wat Tegulang Murum.

*Abang Jo, Penan Children from Murum Need School!*

A statistical question reported by the Premier of Sarawak regarding the achievements of Penan children in the past 30 years as reported by the Borneo Post last week. It was reported that 226 university graduates from the Penan community.

However, despite the reported statistics - the Penan people in the Tegulang and Metalun resettlement areas in Murum, face great challenges.

The Penan people in these two settlements were moved to make way for the construction of the Murum hydro-electric dam. But after being transferred to a new settlement. The project developer (SEB) and the Sarawak Government did not build a school for Penan children. The school building that is used now is an old building that has been abandoned by the developers of the Murum hydroelectric project.

Using the old building as a teacher's room and classroom. How can penan children achieve the best performance - Anyie asked. The dormitory building can only accommodate 60 students. The rest have to go back and forth from home to school every day with a distance of 16 KM - through a log road. To help these penan children, SEB provides transportation by covering the monthly rent of a car of RM4000. But because of the long distance, the condition of the road is badly damaged and dangerous.

These Penan children are often late for school and do not have time to have breakfast. Anyie asked the government to build a school complete with facilities and build a paved road to the penan settlement. For Kawasan Murum, only 2 penan children have succeeded in going to university so far. They are Olivia Labang and Anjeli Pasang.

    Robinson from Long Anyat, Baram

*Interior elderly struggles with MyKad Applications*

Robinson and his cousin Paya Wan hold red identity cards, which only represent permanent residency and not the blue identity cards held by citizens.

As a result, despite being in their fifties, they have never enjoyed the government's poverty alleviation policies or welfare programs.

Robinson stated that they have made multiple trips from their rural long house to the city to apply for the MyKad, spending thousands of ringgit on transportation costs. However, over the years, their applications have never been successful.

Although the JPN has provided assistance for rural residents to apply for MyKad, they only visit a few villages as central points, and residents from nearby villages have to submit their documents themselves. However, without transportation or money, they are unable to travel to the neighboring village.

Robinson pointed out that they have sought help from YBs, but they were simply advised to go to the JPN without any intention of providing assistance. It is now said that the village head cannot act as a guarantor, and they do not know what to do next. They have reached out to Senator Abun Sui, waiting his response.

    DIffan from VoteMalaysia

*VoteMalaysia Movement Calls for Streamlined Postal Voting with Malaysian Embassies Abroad*

VoteMalaysia movement calls for Election Commission (EC) collaboration with Malaysian embassies to simplify postal voting procedures, addressing processing system issues.

In response to the ongoing challenges faced by overseas voters, the VoteMalaysia movement has urged the EC to work closely with Malaysian embassies abroad. The objective is to streamline the postal voting process and effectively resolve the persistent issues encountered by voters residing outside the country.

One proposed solution involves direct delivery of ballots from the embassies to the voters, bypassing logistical challenges associated with courier services. This approach aims to ensure timely and secure receipt of ballots by Malaysian citizens abroad. Additionally, Malaysians should be given the option to mail their completed ballots directly to the embassies, eliminating potential delays in delivering the votes back to the returning officers in Malaysia.

The postal ballot system has been subject to widespread criticism from overseas voters and NGOs alike. The primary concern centers around the system's inconsistencies, with numerous voters reporting delays in receiving their ballot papers during the 15th general election (GE15). Some expressed frustration as their ballots were either delivered late or redirected to different countries or voters with similar names.

By collaborating with Malaysian embassies worldwide, the EC can work towards enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the postal voting process. This collaboration would ensure that overseas Malaysians have sufficient time to receive, complete, and return their ballots, enabling them to exercise their right to vote in a convenient and timely manner.

The VoteMalaysia movement emphasizes the need for a fair and inclusive electoral system that upholds the democratic rights of all Malaysians, regardless of their geographical location. The proposed collaboration between the EC and Malaysian embassies represents a crucial step towards addressing the concerns raised by overseas voters and fostering greater confidence in the postal voting system.

  • Abun Sui, PKR Senator of Sarawak

*Sarawak high income state? Not from most Sarawakian!*

According to the latest data from the World Bank, Sarawak has achieved the status of a high income state. The World Bank's Malaysia lead economist, Apurva Sanghi, confirmed that Sarawak qualifies as a high income state with a gross national income (GNI) per capita exceeding US$13,205. This puts Sarawak among the ranks of 83 out of 218 countries that have attained high income status. Sanghi announced the news on Twitter, expressing that while Malaysia's pursuit of joining the high income club continues, Sarawak's achievement is a pleasant surprise.

Abun Sui shared his thoughts on Sarawak becoming a high income state. While he recognized the positive news, he pointed out that most Sarawakians don't experience the benefits of this achievement. He explained that the advantages of high income are mainly enjoyed by a small group of wealthy corporations and individuals in Sarawak. Abun Sui highlighted the unequal development between urban and rural areas as a reason for this disparity. He mentioned that economic opportunities and benefits are not fairly distributed. As a senator representing the rural Belaga constituency, he noticed that certain groups of people are being left out and unable to access the economic opportunities that come with Sarawak's high income status.

    -----------------

    John Brian, Sarawak activist

*Only 10% are rich. They are politicians and families /cronies of them*

World Bank economist Apurva Sanghi- confirmed that Sarawak is now listed as a high-income state. The latest data analyzed by the World Bank obtained from DOSM- Department of Statistics Malaysia found that each Sarawakian earns an annual income of RM61,00 (USD 13,205) or at least RM5000 per month. According to John Brian, "I do not dispute this data. But I think the majority of Sarawakians are still poor. Indeed, Sarawak's annual income is high. But it is donated or owned by the upper classes who have political and commercial power. These people are mostly friends/cronies of those in power". If a country is rich but its people are still poor. This means there is a big problem in the administration. This is what Sarawak is facing, according to John Brian. Businesses that generate billions of ringgit in profits such as the oil and gas industry, palm oil plantations, logging, ports, hotels, manufacturing, renewable energy/dams and now entering the phase of hydrogen energy and carbon trading are dominated by a small group. 10 percent of the rich have high incomes while the other 90 percent of Sarawakians are still poor. I request that the state administrator be changed. Only then will the new administration be able to distribute wealth fairly and equally. This can all be done through political power and the ballot box. The people of Sarawak should choose wisely during the election.

    -----------------

Thomas Fann, Chairperson of Bersih 2.0

*Extending Election Timeframe: Empowering Voters to Make Informed Choices for Their Future*

6 states elections in which SPR today had announced polling day on 12 August, nomination on 29 July and early voting on 8 August. Meaning that campaign period only 14 days.

Bersih feel frustrated that 14days of campaign is difficult for overseas postal voters to send back their postal vote to returning officer on polling day.

On Bersih’s experienced was that from previous elections PRU 15, most postal voters only managed to receive their ballot paper just few days prior to polling day. A lot have reported to Bersih, that they can't cast their vote. Thus, all the while Bersih have urged that campaign period at least 21 days.

Only one time where campaign period was 21 days that was Balakong by -election in 2019. And after no more as many politicians don't like campaign period for 21 days as it is costly and very tiring . But what Thomas Fann emphasize is that election is for the voters to cast their vote. Giving voters more time to get more information. SPR must prioritise the comfort of the voters and not the ease of the politicians.

But if SPR refuse to extend campaign period, what they should do is to provide easy process sending postal votes to applicants. What Bersih suggest is that, right after nomination day, as people already know who is the candidate of constituency, and ballot papers printed out, they should be able to go to their account in Myspr and download format in PDF of ballot paper and Form 2 via online. Which just need witness to sign and send back. This is a good suggestion and more reduce cost and totally eliminate clerical mistakes.

Bersih urge everyone must go out to vote, as it is very important, whoever form state govt, will has right to appoint local councils or the Mayor. If we don't have a good management team in our area, we will have direct impact

    -----------------

    Komeok Joe, Penan Activist

*GPS Government's Neglect of Penan People's Needs and Infrastructure Priorities*

The GPS Sarawak government plans to build preschools for children in the Penan and Ulu areas. However, this is another empty promise of development for the Penan people.

It seems suspicious that they are only now planning to build schools while issues such as roads, identification cards (IC), and illegal logging remain unresolved.

Komeok said that people have no expectations for the GPS government to fulfill their promise of building schools when the condition of the roads in Baram still requires significant improvement. There are also several damaged bridges that need attention from the government, but he wants people to observe that GPS government are not taking the issue seriously.

As a result, Komeok are now taking the initiative through NGO to build bridges using a community-based approach and funding from external sources. This will facilitate crossing the river and provide a solution to the transportation problem. These are all ignore by the GPS government.

    > It is not a new matter that Tun M and Muhyiddin Yassin colluded to defend their wealth, positions, and ways, said Anwar Ibrahim.

    > Analysts argue that the GPS should distance itself from the state elections campaign in the six states in West Malaysia, despite the alliance being a pillar of the unity government.

    Barnie Lasimbang, environmental expert

*Jeffrery Ketinggan need to answer which area for Carbon Trading program*

This NCA issue has been a hot topic in Sabah since it was revealed by one of international portal during Cop26 in Glasgow.

NCA is an agreement signed by Sabah State govt and a company which was registered in Singapore, that's Hock Standard whom owner is unknown, that was given power to manage Tropical rainforest in Sabah with an area of 2millions hactres, for 100 yrs for carbon trading project.

Where there was consultation carried out. The agreement was made secretly.

There was no clear justify and the informations were limited, as such Barnie took initiative to file an Originating Summons to request for access to get more information in detail. And with that the Conservator gave Barnie photocopies of the information. So that was the first time they saw the contents of agreement. After further studied it with Lawyers, experts where they found that the agreement was only one sided. Benefiting Hock Standard company. And there was no clause for sabah state govt to exit this agreement.

What is the most scary part in the agreement is process of benefit sharing which is in favour of the company.

There were several issues raised by Sabah NGOs on their concern to Dr. Jeffry but he refuse to answer to us, instead accused the Sabah CSOs are the mastermind.

After he filed the Summon, Sabah SAG had made a clear statement that the agreement was not enforceable, as it is not fulfilling the procedures and not due diligence.

So with that he decided not to continue the suit, as he took the statement by Attorney General is official.

But however after a year Jeffry Ketinggan emerged with a statement saying that Sabah State Govt is ready with carbon credit trading program and sell to Malaysia stock exchange may also be set up in Sabah. With 2Millions hactres .

And the confusing part is he did not mention in which area. Waiting Jeffrery Ketinggan to answer it.

*Ensuring Equal Access: Irene Chang's Call for Assistance in Obtaining MyKad for anyone who need help*

Irene Chang is dedicated to assisting Malaysians who do not have a MyKad in applying for one.

The cases of individuals without MyKad vary, including indigenous people from the rural areas and Chinese residents in urban areas.

She explains that each applicant has a different background, and the reasons for not having a MyKad are diverse, resulting in variations in the application process. She further clarifies that the process of applying for a MyKad is extremely complex and challenging, with the level of difficulty depending on the completeness of the documents provided by the applicant.

However, many applicants are unable to provide the required documents because they simply do not have them, such as birth certificates or their parents' official marriage certificates.

Nevertheless, she urges Malaysians without MyKad not to give up and suggests seeking assistance from lawyers or Members of Parliament (YB) for the application process or applying directly at the National Registration Department (JPN). She emphasizes that the issue of MyKad affects not only the indigenous people but all Malaysians throughout the country.

Oly William, Residents of Kampung Usahajaya Tukau Miri

*No relocation plans for 23 residents in Kampung Usahajaya Tukau*

(update) Oly told that 23 houses of residents in Kampung Usahajaya Tukau are currently being demolished. By the Parabena Development Company, owned by Raziah Mahmud (Taib Mahmud's sister). Most of the garden land with pineapple, coconut, banana, fruit and palm oil plants has also been pushed and flattened. Residents have tried to save their village through various channels until appealing for the intervention of YB Sibuti Parliamentarian (Lukanisman) and Bekenu Assemblyman Ripin Lamat. But no one could help. Everyone is afraid of the family of TYT Taib Mahmud. YB Ripin Lamat was previously an employee at Syarikat Parabena before becoming YB. Both of these YBs visited and saw the demolished settlements. But there is no solution. Residents are not paid garden or house compensation. There are no relocation plans. Residents are asked to rent and the developer pays rent for a year. Oly wonders why the poor people who have been living on government land for a long time are not helped/or paid compensation and the village land is given to a developer company that makes millions of ringgit profit for themselves.

    > State polls for Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Negeri Sembilan will be held on Aug 12, Election Commission chairperson Abdul Ghani Salleh announced today. The nomination day has been set on July 29. "Early voting is on Aug 8. The campaign period has been set for 14 days beginning after the announcement of contesting candidates on July 29, until 11.59pm on Aug 11.

Nick Kelesau, Spokesperson for Penan Keruan

*Penan's achievements will be better with good educational facilities*

The Penan community, despite being a minority ethnic group in Sarawak and mainly residing in rural areas, has produced 226 university graduates in less than three decades. This achievement is attributed to the establishment of a school for Penan children in Long Jekitan 34 years ago, which has yielded fruitful results. Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg expressed his pride in this accomplishment.

Although the Premier of Sarawak gave figures for the achievements of the Penan people in the field of Education, it seemed encouraging. But according to Nick, if good educational facilities are given to the Penan people. The Penan people will be able to reach the highest level in the field of Education on par with other races in Malaysia. According to Nick, the Penan people are facing a very difficult challenge because they are in a very remote area in the interior. To get to the nearest school, it takes hours of travel using a Long boat, walking, using a four-wheel drive car or riding a log truck. Nick hopes that a primary school and a secondary school are built near the area where the Penan people live and the Penan people should be helped through scholarships. Schools in the interior should be added with facilities and good roads should be built to connect penan settlements to schools. Nick hopes that successful Penan children will contribute back to their community.

Oscar Ling, DAP MP for Sibu

*Six states elections, and big chance for reforms*

The Election Commission announced the polling day today, and it is believed that voters in the six states are eagerly looking forward to casting their votes. And also hope that voters who are working or studying in other states can return home to vote.

This state election is unrelated to Sarawak, but it appears that the Deputy Prime Minister Zahid has invited GPS to campaign on their platform, although GPS's decision is currently unknown. If they refuse to campaign, it signifies that they have not taken a stance yet.

According to Oscar, GPS is part of the unity government, but they have not expressed their position in the state election.

Oscar Ling stated that although it is a state election, it has significant implications for the national economic recovery and the people. He mentioned that past governments were plagued by corruption, resulting in policies in many states that did not benefit the people. Therefore, this is an opportunity for the people to make a fresh choice, elect PH and unity goverment, and work together with the federal government to bring about reforms.

The screening will show what Undi18 have done from collecting of the ballot from KLIA to KL scout and distribution to respective constituencies during PRU 15.

There will also Penal session discussing on better way for democracy voice of Malaysians be heard.

Also press conference on what votemalaysia will do for the coming of 6 states PRN.

In her own experiences was very encouraging, where we can see Malaysians all over the world excited to have their voices heard. But the biggest challenges was lack of time. Starting from when SPR announced the closing date for registration of postal votes till polling day. It was little bit of struggled but managed to do it.

Another challenge was looking for volunteers to deliver the ballot envelopes to respective 222 Returning Officer offices. For the coming PRN there are 245 offices. This will be more challenging for more rural areas like Kelantan and Kedah.

they are still encouraging people to sign up as the closing date for Postal vote is on this Saturday.

    Charles Santiago, Former Klang MP

*Muhyiddin's GLC Appointments, is about bribery*

On statement by Muhyiddin. As all Unity govt now also appointing politicians to GLC posts. With that Muhyiddin also will appoint politicians from his party if they win in the coming election in all 6 states.

Charles Santiago comment on Muhyiddin statement, saying it is come with bribery intention.

Former Klang MP Charles Anthony Santiago has been appointed as the chairman of National Water Services Commission (SPAN) effective March 20.

He stated that GLCs (Government-Linked Companies) are meant to help enrich the nation, but it is apparent that Muhyiddin's rhetoric is aimed at enriching his own party, prioritizing their interests over the nation's. He called it an abuse of power, and it is astonishing that Muhyiddin openly declared it. Charles believes that individuals appointed to GLC positions must prioritize the interests of the nation, seek wealth for the country, and serve the people. If actions are taken similar to Muhyiddin's, it not only fails to benefit the nation but also constitutes an abuse of power.

Tok Mudin, A retiree government servant from Betong

*Is Sarawakian Comfort Under the Current Administration Hindering Progress by GPS Government?*

A few days ago Puan Asiah abd Jalil posted on FB provoking the people of Sabah and Sarawak. According to Asiah, if placed to work in Sabah or Sarawak, he would resign within 24 hours. Because Sabah/Sarawak remains poor even after 60 years together in Malaysia, lacking basic facilities, it is difficult to plan a career, plan a family and raise children. For Tok Mudin, what Mrs. Asiah said is the reality in Sarawak. In the main urban centers in Sarawak there are indeed facilities. But 20 kilometers from the city center has seen poverty, poor schools, dilapidated clinics, long houses/villages with no telephone/internet facilities. If this is the case, how do you plan to continue studying? How will children excel in their studies, asked Tok Mudin. Mudin also questioned why the number of specialist teachers in Sarawak is so low. At MRSM Betong for example, almost all teaching staff are junior staff. Betong Hospital still fails to manage births (for mothers aged 35 and over) due to the absence of a specialist doctor, even though it is only 3 hours from Kuching city and 3 hours from Sibu city. Betong Hospital is only able to give basic medicines such as Paracetamol. For Mudin. What Mrs. Asiah said was intended to make the people of Sarawak aware not to depend too much on peninsular Malaysia. Sarawakians should not blame others. But you have to question why the country itself remains poor. Is it because the people of Sarawak are too comfortable under the current administration? Tok Mudin's question.

Chiew Choon Man, PKR MP of Miri

*Assisting Stateless Children: Ensuring Equal Access to Education and Identity Documentation*

Recently, Chiew's team provided assistance to a Chinese family in handling the necessary documents for their stateless child's enrollment in school, which included proof of parental guardianship.

As a representative of PKR Miri, Chiew actively communicated and coordinated with relevant departments and official organizations to ensure the application was processed correctly. The aim of assisting the family with these documents is to help them address their education-related issues, enabling their child to enroll smoothly and access educational opportunities.

Chiew highlighted that cases of individuals without identity cards are prevalent in rural areas, but they also occur in cities, often due to issues with parents' marriage certificates or a lack of identification for one parent.

Chiew pledged to continue dedicating efforts to providing assistance to families in need, with the goal of ensuring every child can enjoy equal rights to education. Recognizing the crucial role of education in children's growth and development, Chiew expressed the hope that every child can achieve their dreams. For individuals experiencing difficulties with identity card applications, Chiew remains readily available to offer assistance.

    -----------------------

Thomas Fann, Chairperson of Bersih 2.0

*Vote out the party that cause corruption from GLC*

On statement by Muhiddyn. As all Unity govt now also appointing politicians to GLC posts. With that Muhiddyn also will appoint politicians from his party if they win in the coming election in all 6 states.

Bersih in the opinion that, first that is misuse of power. Secondly, this is wrong in term management.

As a govt, our job is to protect as we have a trust to properties or funds or any national resources for the people.

So, GLC is a government link companies and not personal company. Where you can make use of the resources to pay your people's salaries. Where they have no drill and expertise as à Chairman or Director of these companies. This is public funds. Most of these companies are not small companies. They are responsibility to millions of transaction of properties.

So we need a person that has skill and expertise qualify to be appointed to take care all of these. And not politicians. Thus i would like to remaind Tan Sri Muhiddyn, that GLC is not à politicians ATM.

We want a clear procèss and indépendance body that the appointed person has qualify skill and expertise as a Chairman or Director in GLC. But currently no. All are depand on winner party. Same goes to Unity Govt. The public must stop this culture

That is why we always impersise that correct method of appointement of GLC.

Vote out the party that cause corruption from GLC

    > Former Prime Minister, Mahathir has expressed his belief that promoting a multiracial Malaysia goes against the Federal Constitution. In a recent social media post, he once again highlighted his concerns about the perceived threat of the DAP to the Malays and Islam.

    > BN has taken their case to the Court of Appeal to challenge the victory of PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang in the Marang parliamentary constituency during the GE15. The appeal was filed by BN candidate Jasmira Othman on June 28, the petition, filed under the Election Offences Act 1954, alleged that PAS had bribed voters by distributing financial aid from the state government. The court ordered Jasmira to pay RM50,000 in costs to Hadi.

    > A retired MACC officer – former director of MACC special operations divison Bahri Mohd Zin, has criticized Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing, stating that he should have been arrested for obstructing a public servant from performing his duties.

    Romuald Siew, President of Tahabas

*Political Disharmony in Sarawak: BN's Invitation for GPS to Campaign in Six States may have Hidden Motive?*

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has expressed his hope that leaders from GPS will assist coalition members during the upcoming state elections in Peninsular Malaysia. Ahmad Zahid, who is also the chairman of BN, has proposed inviting GPS leaders to share their experiences of political stability in Sarawak during the campaign period. He believes that the political stability in Sarawak can provide valuable lessons for the election machinery in the six states. While Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof previously stated that GPS would not directly participate in the state elections outside of Sarawak, Ahmad Zahid still hopes for their support.

Mr. Romuald Siew stated that there are hidden motives behind the Deputy Prime Minister's call to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to assist in the State Election Campaign (PRN) in six states in Peninsular Malaysia. The statement that this action aims to emulate political stability in Sarawak is untrue because Pakatan Harapan (PH) is still the opposition, and opposition members of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (Adun) have not been provided with allocations by the GPS government to develop their constituencies. This indicates a lack of political harmony in Sarawak and is perceived as biased. UMNO and GPS have been together for a long time, so it is certain that there are hidden political agendas that are not good behind this.

    -----------------

Richard Engan community activist from Mulu

*PMX Must Take Resolute Action Against Corruption, Including Government Officials*

Malaysia's Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister, Tiong King Sing, personally intervened to assist an employee of a China-based media company who was denied entry by immigration officers at KLIA. The woman, a personal assistant to a senior official of a Chinese government-owned TV station, alleged that she was asked to pay a significant amount of money to be allowed entry, despite having valid travel documents. Tiong contacted the MACC and visited KLIA with their officers to investigate the matter. The immigration officers claimed there was a language barrier and it was a misunderstanding. The women's mobile phones were also seized by the immigration officers. The personal assistant was eventually allowed to enter the country after Tiong's intervention. This incident was not the first time Tiong had intervened in such matters. An investigation has been initiated regarding allegations that the minister caused a commotion at KLIA.

Richard praised the brave actions of the Minister of Tourism, arts and culture - Tiong king sing, who exposed the corruption that took place among the KLIA immigration staff. He wanted Tiong's allegations to be investigated in detail. But Richard was surprised by Anwar Ibrahim's PMX comments as reported by Malaysiakini today. "PM: It is inappropriate to give the impression that there is damage in immigration. According to Anwar, the majority of officers at KLIA carry out their duties well and only a small number are still with the old practices."

According to Richard, PMX should support Tiong's statement and should even be more assertive. Asked whether PMX's action was because of fear of losing support from civil servants in the elections in 6 states? According to Richard, if PMX is still doubtful and hesitant to take firm action against public officials who are involved in corruption, this will cause the reform agenda to be delayed.

Richard suggested that all Ministers take strict action against those who practice excessive bureaucracy (in all government agencies) with the aim of receiving bribes/bribery. According to Richard, a firm and trustworthy leader will get the support of the voters.

    -----------------

Alan Ling see Kiong, Sarawak PH Secretary

*Sarawak PH leader backs Tiong over KLIA incident*

Alan praised Tiong's actions as brave and well-intentioned. Tiong wants to find the real cause of the problem related to the entry of foreigners into Malaysia. According to Alan, the Government should admit that there is indeed a problem that so many foreigners enter Malaysia and millions of foreigners do not leave Malaysia. Perhaps what we know now is only a small part of the real problem. Alan praised PMX for being willing to go into the field and see and hear for himself the problems facing the immigration department. Although PMX states that only a small part may be involved in old practices (corruption), but according to Alan- this small amount will damage the whole system if not curbed.

*Malaysia's Commitment to SDGs and the Potential of Floating Solar Panels for Sustainable Energy Generation*

In 2015, the United Nations set 17 SDG goals and aims to achieve them by 2030. Malaysia is one of the countries that agreed to sign compliance with the SDGs. In short, the 17 goals; Zero poverty, zero hunger, good health systems, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, clean and affordable energy, responsible consumption and disposal, life in water and on land, peace/justice and shared goals.

From Peter's observation, less than 20% of this goal was achieved in Baram, Hulu Rajang and Kapit parliaments. These areas are located in the interior and are active logging and plantation areas. Therefore, there is much more that the Malaysian government should do to achieve this goal. Related to reuters report dated 27 June 2023. Malaysia, through SEB plans to install floating solar panels at 3 main dams - Bakun, Murum and Batang AI. This according to Peter is a good idea. Because solar energy is much cleaner than coal or hydro. Although there are still issues related to solar batteries. Not only the installation of floating solar on dams but also on buildings that require a lot of energy consumption should be accelerated. To find out more about the development of the SDGs in each parliament in Malaysia. Please visit atpgm sdg.com

Bill Jugah, Founder of Independent Council Of Natives (ICON)

*The voters are always victim of broken promise*

Sarawak aims to complete the construction of some 5,000 kilometres (km) of new roads connecting various villages and scattered settlements in the interior areas before 2030, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

Bill Jugah comment that, 7 years time to complete 5,000 km road, we are given 70 percents from allocation of 6.8 billions for rural development, meaning it is 4.9 billions. What he knows for 5,000 km, whereby cost for per km is aproximate 4 mill to 12.5 mill. This source is from tvs Website. Another 1200 roads which is pending for implemention which are support to link to 182 settlements of the Indigenous peoples. This is a huge challenge to our state govt.

For 5,000 km roads by 2030, he dont know what to say, to believe or not. The voters are always victim of broken promise. This what the voters always complained. Regardless of which party govt of the day, the very first thing they should implement is building the roads, water and electricity supply, now plus Internet. These are the basic. We also need these four element for our income like business. Especially for oil palm small holders, even factory if no road also affected

    -------------------------------

Marcus Hugo, DAP of Telang Usan

*GPS, do you know that others are laughing at Sarawak's backwardness*

there is a statement wrote by netizen from Peninsular, expresses a negative view of Sabah and Sarawak as places for pursuing a career, raising a family, and experiencing a challenging life. It highlights the perceived lack of development and progress in the two states despite their abundant resources. The statement suggests that sending civil servants from Peninsular Malaysia to Sabah and Sarawak is seen as a form of punishment, and emphasizes the reliance on individuals from Peninsular Malaysia to fill job positions in the two states. The statement concludes by questioning the viability of Sabah and Sarawak's survival without sufficient qualified individuals and discourages discussions about secession from Malaysia.

Many netizens from East Malaysia feel angry about this article, seeing it as a form of disrespect. However, Marcus Hugo states that if this is true, then the Sarawak GPS government should reflect on why there has been no progress in development despite 60 years of development, and why people from Peninsular Malaysia have such perceptions about East Malaysia. He argues that the underdevelopment of East Malaysia is an undeniable fact, and while the GPS claims to allocate funds for development, there is a lack of tangible action. As a result, people from East Malaysia are forced to leave their hometowns to seek employment or pursue education in other cities.

    -------------------------------

    Mr. Robert from Miri

*Criticism Directed at Minister John Sikie Tayai Regarding the Usage of the Term "Dayak" and Hari Gawai in Sarawak*

Mr Robert share to RFS that he is disappointed with the statement made by Minister John Sikie Tayai, which states that the term "Dayak" should not necessarily be used exclusively with Hari Gawai, as for decades Hari Gawai Dayak has been used in Sabah and Sarawak to symbolize the celebration of various ethnic groups in Sarawak such as the Iban, Bidayuh, and Orang Ulu as a harvest festival.

John Sikie Tayai is a Deputy Minister in the Chief Minister's Department (Law and Native Custom of Sarawak), A leader should not touch the term "Dayak" and should respect it.

*PAS stop dragging/using Islam for their political interests *

The heat of the election campaign in 6 states is getting felt even though the EC has not announced the official date of the election. Today the president of the PAS Party issued a statement that those who use the brand "green wave" to describe the victory of the PAS Party are trying to sow Islamophobia. And Hadi said Islamic administration through PAS shows PAS as a party with integrity. For Iswardy PAS is the party with the least integrity. PAS party leaders have lost the most in defamation lawsuits and a few days ago PAS's victory in the Kuala Terengganu Parliament was annulled due to corruption and money/vote-buying politics. How can Hadi say PAS Party is the party with the most integrity?. Iswardy's question. As for the issue - PAS's victory is Islamophobia. Iswardy questioned since when PAS is a reflection of Islam. PAS is not a party that represents Islam. Iswardy asked that PAS stop dragging/using Islam for their political interests. Therefore, Iswardy asked PAS leaders to emulate Khairuddin Aman Razali (former PAS leader who joined UMNO). Razali today issued a statement, each party should campaign prudently and present the policies and advantages of their respective parties, stop using the term enemy of God and label those who are not the same party as going to hell. Razali is an example of those who have realized that PAS is a party of religious fanatics.

    ——————————

    Mr. Bonny, from Bintulu

struggling on managing IC for children

Mr Bonny a father of two, is extremely stressed about managing the identification process for both of his children. His first child is currently studying in Year 2 and needs to pay an annual fee of RM120 at the Bintulu education office. This issue arises from his wife, who lacks citizenship documents while being originally from the indigenous Iban community in Sarawak. It was a heartbreaking experience for them when their child was born at a government hospital, as they were charged up to 8,000 RM for the delivery. They had to plead for a reduction in the payment rate. Despite submitting the application forms, they have yet to receive any response from the National Registration Department regarding their wife's IC (Identity Card) application.

The reason behind his wife's lack of identification documents since birth is that both of her parents passed away when she was still a baby. This has made it extremely difficult for her to establish her own citizenship. Additionally, the community leader has not been supportive, adding to their struggles.

    Dolah Tekoi, chairman of JPOAJ

Johor Orang Asli object to land enactment to Sultanate Land

Based on the Malaysiakini report, Indigenous communities are unhappy with the Johor Orang Asli Village Network (JPOAJ) protesting the proposal to convert their land into Sultanate Land. The demonstration occurred in front of the Johor Chief Minister's Office on May 8th. The representative of Tok Batin Kampung Orang Asli Kemidak, Hadi Baya, clarified that JPOAJ's actions do not represent the approximately 20,000 indigenous people in the state.

Dolah, Firstly we ought to understand 2 issues.

First, who is Hadi Baya to make that particular statement. He is just a son to one of thé Tok Batin in Kpg Kemidak. 90 percents of residents of Kpg Kemidak support JPOAJ . Only Hadi's is not supporting JPOAJ due jis fâcher will loose his post and allowance. Hadi is not representing the villages, but merely his own familly.

Secondly on land issue. JPOAJ is not against the Ruler. We only object to land enacment to sultanate land. We have several times applied to have dialogue with state govt but rejected all our request. Also apllied to meet up with PM Annuar Ibrahim but we told that his schedules are tight. We just want Federal govt to discuss with state govt on our demand. They should have held a meeting right away with NGOs, Orang Asli expert after our rally . The state JAKOA just kept silent. It is obvious that they want Orang Asli land under sultanate land

We will not just stop here. What we need now is to have dialogue with govt. There are four issues in land ennactment.

The most dangerous in section 2, that says, all lands classify under sultanate lands are rightfull of the Ruler. So Orang Asli have no more right.

*GPS need STOP announcing projects without master plan*

At the closing of the Gawai Dayak festival in Sepauh Betong last week. Sarawak Deputy Premier Unggah Embas announced the allocation of RM60 million to develop Sepauh. John thinks it's time to stop the practice of announcing allocations but no details, what projects will be implemented. Such an act is only to attract attention. When Alfred Jabu was still the Deputy Premier of Sarawak. Jamu once announced that it will build a university in Betong and build an agricultural research and development station in Betong. But until the end of Jabu's political life. What Jabu said did not happen.

John asked the people not to be deceived by promises/announcements that are not accompanied by a master plan. John thinks the majority of Sarawak politicians are not efficient at work, they have crony contractors and most of the projects are in ALIBABA right (get contacts but don't implement, only ask for commissions from contractors). This is the reason why Sarawak remains poor.

John suggested that all Divisions in Sarawak should have a master plan to guide development. Not just according to what YB said.

    --------------------------

    Chris, independent Journalist from Sarawak

*If Taib is healthy just show up*

Astana Negeri Sarawak, the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak, has filed a police report regarding the spread of fake news about the health of Governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud. The report was lodged by Peter Sibon, the Press Secretary to the Governor, at the Gita Police Station. Peter stated that he trusts the authorities to investigate the matter and put an end to the dissemination of false information. The fake news included claims that the Governor was unwell, sick, or even deceased. The origin of the fake news remains unknown, and the police will be responsible for determining its source through an investigation. The Governor's private secretary, Junih Salleh Ahmad, previously issued a statement affirming that Abdul Taib is in good health and dismissing all rumors regarding his well-being as entirely false and unverified.

In response to this, Chris expresses confusion and wonders why the Governor doesn't appear in public to prove his good health instead of filing a police report and requesting an investigation into the fake news.

Chris notes that Taib Mahmud is already of advanced age and that this is not the first time rumors of his critical condition have circulated. In the past, Taib would appear in public to demonstrate his good health when faced with such health-related rumors. However, this time, he has not made a public appearance following the spread of the news.

Chris acknowledges that the authorities have the right to report cases related to false information, but the people also have the right to be informed about Taib's health. After all, Taib has been in power of the Sarawak politics for many years, possesses multiple large corporations, and has significant political influence. If his health is a cause for concern, it could potentially worry the people of Sarawak regarding its impact on political dynamics and the direction of the corporations under his control.

    --------------------------

    Mazerol Way, PKR Youth Leader

*Include Orang Asli history in school syllabus*

Pertaining to include Orang Asli history in national education syllabus. One of the reasons that we can see there discrimination compare to other races is very high. The main stream community are not aware the existence of Orang Asli communities. For example in Johore, there are Malay community said they are not aware and never been mentioned the existence of Orang Asli. So this cause cultural shock to main stream community. And such will cause negative impact towards the Orang Asli. And they feel being left behind being a Malaysian.

The students and as well as youths feel down hearted. This is why the history of the Orang Asli must be included in the education syllabus. The Orang Asli aslo part of the independent struggled.

We can see the gap in education among the Orang Asli is far way left behind compare to other main stream communities. The main reason is the young people refuse to go to school due to discrimination they faced. Not only by among the students but also among the teachers play a role. We acknowledge that our self determination is low.

He urges that we as a Malaysians living in multi racial should respect each and every races.

In 60 yrs of independence we can see that there is no political will from any parties to ensure that the indigenous peoples' rights are taken care of. We also don't see this unity govt to up lifting the rights of the indigenous peoples

    Iswardy Morni, Political Analyst

*Evaluating Political Parties Based on Efficiency and Fairness, Not Religious Affiliation*

Leaders of political parties, especially the opposition, have started giving speeches to influence voters who will vote in 6 states in peninsular Malaysia. Iswardy gave an explanation to the voters so as not to get caught up with incorrect views.

MUDA Party President, Syed Saddiq announced that his party will contest solo against any political bloc that contests. This is to show that the MUDA party is more democratic than other parties. At the same time raising concerns of support/votes for PH and the unity government will split. According to Iswardy, MUDA's view is wrong. The purpose of political parties is to gain power. With power will gain the mandate to rule. If MUDA opposes PH and the unity government. At the same time MUDA also fielded candidates to oppose the opposition bloc. Is there any possibility that MUDA will win and form the administration of the state government. Is doing so MUDA more democratic than any other party? As a political party must obey the discipline of the group we support. Currently MUDA supports PH and the unity government. Does putting a candidate against PH& the unity government show that MUDA is more democratic? Iswardy's question.

Iswardy believes MUDA is manipulated by certain parties.

Regarding the PAS party. A PAS speaker gave a speech and prayed that the state should be defended by PAS instead of being overthrown by the enemies of Islam. For Iswardy, this is a very dangerous view and can cause racial tension. Iswardy thinks Allah/God is not hostile to anyone or any political party and elections are only about choosing whichever political party gets the power to rule. All political parties registered with the registrar of organizations (ROS) are certified to carry a healthy ideology. Therefore, a party that is too religiously fanatical like this should be rejected by Iswardy's supporters.

Iswardy advised voters to think rationally when listening to political talks and make the right choice when voting. As long as any government in a state carries out its duties efficiently, fairly and with trust. That should be a voter's consideration, not a matter of his religion.

Haji Jofree Jaraee, Sarawak PAS Commissioner

*The GPS Gov Policies Persecuting the People*

Jofree was saddened to see the residents of Kampung Usahaja Tukau Miri being evicted from the village they had built since 1978. A few days ago the houses of the residents in the village were demolished by bulldozers. They were driven out without adequate compensation and there was no plan to build a settlement for them. For now they are instructed to rent and the project developer (Parabena) will cover the monthly rent of the resident's residence for a year. There is no certainty about the future of the population. It is surprising how many times the residents have requested that they be given a title deed to the land in the village involved. But not served. But when the Parabena company applied for land in the village for the construction of commercial housing. In a short time approved by the Sarawak government. For information, Kampung usahajaya Tukau is located next to Miri airport. Therefore, the developer predicts that they will get extraordinary profits by developing the land involved. Residents are upset because the village area and agricultural land that they have worked on over the years has been confiscated overnight. Residents have tried to ask for help from the representatives of the Sibuti Parliament. But until now there is no effort to help the residents. The residents have also lost in the court hearing. Jofree hopes that, in the future, the people vote wisely to choose a government that builds policies that favor the people.

Gabriel Atong, activist from Punan Bah

*5000KM road build in interior by 2030? Pan Borneo yet to be complete*

The state government will build 5,000 kilometres of roads to link remote and unconnected longhouses throughout the state by 2030, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.

As Gabriel Atong always travel to interior areas. If the 5,000 km to be completed by 2030, he feels no confidence. In the past track record we can see when the implement public infrastructure is very slow and many delays. For example of Pan Borneo since the tenure of Fadillah Yusof as a minister of Public work. Announced that road will be completed in first half of 2023. Until now Pan Borneo is yet to be completed.

The politicians seem not respect people's feelings.

Especially those in the interior who have been supporting them all the while.

Where sources of funding come from is not that important but what most important is all the projects must benefit to all the people. As what have been happened is that alot project funding leaking. For example such as project jalan Jiwa Murni so much scandals

    ---------------

    Mr. Tuan from Suai Niah

*Gov should provide fire extinguisher to every longhouse family*

Mr Tuan shared about the fire extinguisher project for every family door in his long house, but what is strange is that only the AJKKK know how to operate the fire extinguisher because the AJKKK has been trained in how to put out fires during an emergency. Most of the community the long house does not know how to use it.

In addition to that, their longhouses were allocated equipment to repair the longhouses at a cost of RM5000 per door by the government with installments charged. But according to Mr. Tuan, the material is seen as not even reaching the value of 5K, because the construction material is needed, some also refuse because they have no income.
